A large percentage of the Israelites who gradually adopted an Arabian cultural identity, regarded themselves as part of a single Arab nation, largely due to their admixture with Muslims from surrounding areas. It was only after losing the war in 1967, that local Muslims began defining the lost territories of Gaza, Judea and Samaria (West Bank) as part of a state on its own, named "Palestine".

@TheRoyalFreshness69 Also don't forget all the territory that includes modern Israel, Lebanon and Jordan were part of what the Romans named "Palestine" (as an insult to the Israelites who were fighting for independence). Even during the Arabian and Ottoman occupation periods, those were territories were never part of a nation on its own. They were just a small part of a foreign empire, except in the eyes of the Israelites, the same way Kurds, see Kurdistan as their national territory.
