My mother use to send money to Jim and Tammy Baker, including several other televangelists. Mom was on a fixed income and when she needed something, she'd come to me. I was struggling with bills & living expenses so it was difficult for me as well. I finally made her understand that these people cared nothing for her. They were only interested in what they could extract from her pocketbook. These self professed preachers are nothing more than leeches.

They do get taxed.. It's just that, we don't know where the money is comming from that they are spending on thier lavish lifestyle... I just want to know, what is their day job? My pastor has a day job and so does his wife.

This shows that religion is a snare and a racket- It thrives on the weak minded. I could never figure out how people could give their money to all these con artists.What the hell is wrong with people? The Bible warns us not to fall for false prophets, sorcerers ... People who fear God would never use his name to scam the poor and needy. Martin Luther King Jr. lived modestly. He never accumulated much wealth during his lifetime. Some preachers have forgotten who they should be serving. God is the ultimate judge!!

They sure as hell do. The only thing Christianity is good for is padding the wallets of those who can manipulate them. I like televangelists. They are obviously atheists who have found a way to take advantage of other peoples' stupidity.

I agree! I grew up in the U.K. and went to church there. Pastors never pressured the congregation for large sums of money. Here the focus is on accumulating wealth. some preachers are competing to see who can collect the most and show it off. What did they do for Katrina victims?????
