I agree. Lower it and learn proper form to get real repeatable accuracy. Bows aren't knockdown weapons so don't worry about DW and "power"....they're designed to place a razor sharp cutting edge with pinpoint accuracy into vital organs, which requires learning to shoot properly.

"Sky drawing" will spook animals, too.

Did you know that a 40# bow can put an arrow through a 200# deer as long as the head is sharp and the arrows are of decent weight?

With IBO weight arrows the current fastest bow is in the 360s, and that's 70#, 30" drawlength and a 350 grain arrow. A 12 year old of average size and strength could expect 280-MAYBE 300 at their DL and DW.

Hate to break it to you, but only the most nervous deer is going to jump the string on a bow shooting over 270 fps. I do agree that cranking your bow to 70 lbs is stupid if you cant draw it properly. Letoff has nothing to do with how loud a bow is. Letoff is the percentage of the draw weight you are holding back at full draw. I shoot 72 lbs at 80% letoff from a Mathews Outback and out of about 35 deer have never had a deer "jump the string".
