Just saw these in Thayer, MO twice now. Identical balls of orange fireball lights. Moving very slow and in line with at lease 8 others. Right before my eyes, some would just go out then reappear in different places. No sound, just slow moving across the tree tops. I am a pilot and if might could get full flaps and fly this slow, but really think they were flying slower than stall speed.

We can rule out chinese lanterns or flares, unless the wind was very strong that day, and it probably wasn't, because I don't see the trees moving violently. Let's postulate an average width of 1 m per chinese lantern. Then with a simple method of estimating distance, the distance of one lantern in the video works out to 250 m away, assuming no zoom. The object seems to travel conservatively about 10 degrees in 3s, so (250*10)/57.3 = about 50km/h at lowest estimate...
@TheChuchulainn Wind speed in London (don't know where you are) for that date and time was about 6 km/h in E or N according to free meteo dot com.
We can also rule out flares and airplanes because no blinking lights + average stall speed of 75km/h (~40 knots), plus the fact that I've never seen civilian aircraft travel in parade like that.

i would say these were lanterns , i came to find this video because tonight in harborough , leicestershire i and others saw random orange lights shoot across the sky a couple of minutes apart.They were definately not lanterns they appeared high in the sky and went faster than planes straight across then disappeared.

This just happened tonight aug 31 around 9:00pm, visible from Lancaster, Pennsylvania for a few minutes then they changed direction or something cause the lights went out, but then a second wave of them followed a few seconds later. There were about 10-15 of them in each group, they made no noise at all that I could hear. I'm waiting for the local News to come on at 11 pm est to see if they say anything about it...

Hi, we've seen exact same thing yesterday midnight in France (aug 27th,2011) Tours town. Same clusters of orange lights being moving together in the same direction and same relative low speed. First cluster was like a constellation.

my friend and I witnessed orange bright lights almost identical to this last night Saturday, July 16th, 2011 at 11:45pm in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Although they were in a formation they broke off and were flying around extremely fast and quiet. They would go into formation and break off and then after about 15 minutes they vanished. We know what we saw and it was incredible! There were clouds and lightning in the distance where they were flying. They were not planes.

I saw three of these orbs on a country road 40 miles north of Oshawa ontario canada on July 2 2011 and they were not no chinese laterns my friend and I don't believe in UFO's but I saw something unexplainable.
A couple of days ago I saw these strange orange orbs in the sky too. What makes me intrigue so much is that their manifestation time. They usually appear in the sky around 9:30, 9:00, 10:30pm all over the world. Their formation looks exactly same too. They usually in group of four or five and there are no more than 30 of them. They disappear in the sky at the exact same spot. Oh god if they are Chinese Laterns then this is one hell of very advenced type of entertaiment for people.
And they aren't Chinese fire lanterns because you see those raising up into the sky. I thought they might be that, but they only appear high up in the sky. They would have to be self- igniting lanterns all synchronized to light up at the same time at a certain height for them to be lanterns.
I just saw these same exact lights in Ocean Isle Beach, NC, America. This very night. They look exactly the same, except disappeared a lot and showed up more in pairs or quadruplets. There was a significant amount of time between appearances, although sometimes a lot showed up all together like in this video. Then some would circulate eachother like they were synchronized. I think it is some government operation.
@bluroses4 I just saw lights like this in Surfside Beach, NC Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. They were the same as you described. Lighting up then fading out. Sometimes next to each other and then in a line. Tuesday we only saw two, but on Wednesday we watched them for an hour. Sometimes five minutes would pass en between sightings. On Thursday we only saw them five or six times.
Saw 12-14 of this orange balls in the north of Luxembourg passing on the 21th of May 2011 at 12:30 a.m in a formation against the wind at a pretty high speed ! They were not climbing and moved straigth to the horizon. So no chinese laterns .....

I just saw 6 of this lights fly over my house. I found it weird to say the least, but also thought it could be war planes or something of the sort, I live in Toronto Ontario. They were flying incredibly high and even though the lights were bright orange the all dimmed and disappeared when they reached a certain point. This happened in New Brunswick by my moms house over a feild. There was like 15-20 lights and just one single light apears once in a while. We were having a reunion with the family years ago.
Saw these in north Georgia middle of feb 2011. There were only 3 in view, spaced out, at once but altogether we saw around 20. When one was leaving our view another would come in at the same place they all started from and all following the same flight pattern. North to south. Lasted about 2 hrs or so.
I saw these lights too, around the same time you did.. in may 2009, in Kentucky near the lakes. My friend said that they were most likely flares from The Ft. Campbell army base or whatever, but i had never seen anything like it before. In my personal opinion they were in the sky for way too long to be flares. What do you think they were? i would say these were lanterns , i came to find this video because tonight in harborough , leicestershire i and others saw random orange lights shoot across the sky a couple of minutes apart.They were definately not lanterns they appeared high in the sky and went faster than planes straight across then disappeared.

In Jordan we have seen lots of moving red light sightings .... but maybe they are spy planes ... because we moslty see them on a daily basis in the dead sea area ... and one just flew near my appartement (not kidding) ...

This just happened tonight aug 31 around 9:00pm, visible from Lancaster, Pennsylvania for a few minutes then they changed direction or something cause the lights went out, but then a second wave of them followed a few seconds later. There were about 10-15 of them in each group, they made no noise at all that I could hear. I'm waiting for the local News to come on at 11 pm est to see if they say anything about it...

I saw four of them, two days ago , around 1 pm. I live in Poland. You can say what you want but it couldn't be lanterns. At first all four were flying in one direction and then suddenly one started going back and forth. I didn't believe in UFO but now....i'm not so sure :/

wow well it was about 10 pm my time and when i tried to record it i couldnt see anything on the screen.. i used a handheld video camcorder and a cell phone... it was soooooo weird..... there were 3 adults and some children.. i told them i was excited and disappointed at the same time cause no one was going to believe us.. im happy to kno we are not the only ones.. wat baffles me is we are sooooo far apart and have both seen the same thing.. now i kno we are not alone and wat i want to kno is

OKAY.... it is aug 27 2011 i am in mooresville indiana.. yep usa and me and my family seen the exact same thing tonight!!! only at first there was a big cluster of them and they kept moving and one by one more kept coming and they were like a string of orange lights that were in this strange formation kinda like a conselation of a catapiller... so friggin weird! I believe now we are not alone!!!

Hi, we've seen exact same thing yesterday midnight in France (aug 27th,2011) Tours town. Same clusters of orange lights being moving together in the same direction and same relative low speed. First cluster was like a constellation.
We were 4 adults and children to see same thing...most strange thing we've never seen

I saw 5 red lights on new years day over Essex, I figured they were some celebration, but it didn't make sense how they could catch up with each other if they were lanterns and their course was definitely not merely wind, it was going towards east from the west.

my friend and I witnessed orange bright lights almost identical to this last night Saturday, July 16th, 2011 at 11:45pm in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Although they were in a formation they broke off and were flying around extremely fast and quiet. They would go into formation and break off and then after about 15 minutes they vanished. We know what we saw and it was incredible! There were clouds and lightning in the distance where they were flying. They were not planes.

A couple of days ago I saw these strange orange orbs in the sky too. What makes me intrigue so much is that their manifestation time. They usually appear in the sky around 9:30, 9:00, 10:30pm all over the world. Their formation looks exactly same too. They usually in group of four or five and there are no more than 30 of them. They disappear in the sky at the exact same spot. Oh god if they are Chinese Laterns then this is one hell of very advenced type of entertaiment for people.

And they aren't Chinese fire lanterns because you see those raising up into the sky. I thought they might be that, but they only appear high up in the sky. They would have to be self- igniting lanterns all synchronized to light up at the same time at a certain height for them to be lanterns.

I just saw these same exact lights in Ocean Isle Beach, NC, America. This very night. They look exactly the same, except disappeared a lot and showed up more in pairs or quadruplets. There was a significant amount of time between appearances, although sometimes a lot showed up all together like in this video. Then some would circulate eachother like they were synchronized. I think it is some government operation.

@bluroses4 I just saw lights like this in Surfside Beach, NC Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. They were the same as you described. Lighting up then fading out. Sometimes next to each other and then in a line. Tuesday we only saw two, but on Wednesday we watched them for an hour. Sometimes five minutes would pass en between sightings. On Thursday we only saw them five or six times.

Saw 12-14 of this orange balls in the north of Luxembourg passing on the 21th of May 2011 at 12:30 a.m in a formation against the wind at a pretty high speed ! They were not climbing and moved straigth to the horizon. So no chinese laterns .....

I just saw 6 of this lights fly over my house. I found it weird to say the least, but also thought it could be war planes or something of the sort, I live in Toronto Ontario. They were flying incredibly high and even though the lights were bright orange the all dimmed and disappeared when they reached a certain point. Also one of the lights reached a higher speed than the rest and left them behind. Are there any reasonable explanations to this?

Tonight, me and my parents saw something weird. It was something like this. I live in the Philippines. San Jose Batangas. We only saw five lights though. And it appeared around midnight--actually, maybe even exactly at midnight. I have no idea whether it was a UFO or not, but it is something good to think about.

ok I saw these same exact things almost an hour ago Im in Garden Grove CA. and they were moving really smoothly and slowly first they were chilen on there own and then I went in my house when I came out they were moved next to the moon and in a triangle until one at a time they started blinking like they were just leaving the atmosphere or somthing no sound at all bright orange lights. Me and my family saw these exact things today, i typed in orange and red ufo and your video popped up and guess where i live....i also live in the uk. we saw seven of these things fly across west london, i have some film and i looked thru some binoculars they were orange and they had some red glow on the top, my footage is crap but im glad ive seen yours realy nice upload thanks: )

Those are UFOs because 2010 Christmas Eve I seen thousands of them I shit bricks i took a picture of them. someone i no does UFO staff and he sees them every year then hey used something to see if it was aliens it was a he send me a picture another day zoomed in close and it was green but up the sky i sore was orange so it was a UFO

Saw these in north Georgia middle of feb 2011. There were only 3 in view, spaced out, at once but altogether we saw around 20. When one was leaving our view another would come in at the same place they all started from and all following the same flight pattern. North to south. Lasted about 2 hrs or so.

I saw these lights too, around the same time you did.. in may 2009, in Kentucky near the lakes. My friend said that they were most likely flares from The Ft. Campbell army base or whatever, but i had never seen anything like it before. In my personal opinion they were in the sky for way too long to be flares. What do you think they were? Have you seen them since?

I saw an orb in the distance today, on the horizon. When i first noticed it, it was round. I observed it for a few minutes and it seemed to turn into what looke dlike a fireball. It was still round, but it looked like fire around it. It went below the horizon a few minutes later. When i first noticed, at my parents place where i was for dinner, we all thought it was mars. But then the fire thing happend. I have never seen anything like that in my entire life! And this too!? Weird

Yeah, me and my family just saw them too. It's new years eve and were in Orlando, Florida. It was like 30 minutes ago. We don't know what they are but they don't look like airplanes. They could be chinese lanterns.
