I have this pedal, probably one of the coolest solid state distortions Ive heard. Even through the clean channel of a tube amp, it still doesnt have the balls of the high gain head's overdrive channel though. The mix out actually sounds pretty good, Id rather use this than a POD going direct.

that's totally what it sounds like i bought one ages ago, the pedal was everything a metal player could ask for definitely the best i got it new off ebay for 80 bucks back when it just came out. it sounded great both through my 60 dollar crate practice amp as well as through my 220 watt halfstack. but to be honest it's just like a dozen degrees better than the metalcore by boss.

The Low Mid and High control let you boost the amount of distortion within those parameters. It's made for the distinctive distortion sound though, so it's not for everyone.

An analog distortion contains diodes. In order to get teh distortion effect, the diodes are overloaded with power, and they "clip". It's supposed to model the breakup of a valve amp.

A digital distortion just models analog distortion. Digital effects tend to sound very fake and cheesy, so stick with analog.
