Ab melodic minor (Ab, Bb, Cb, Db, Eb, F, G) is another option. This gives you b9, #9, major 3rd, b5, #5, b7 and root over a G7 chord....That could be called G altered scale also.

Interesting concept those 2 altered notes on the G7 chord,9- and -13. He didn't mention it but diminished is in there too, b
