His family summered on Martha's Vineyard but James Taylor actually grew up in Carrboro, North Carolina, where his father was a faculty member and then Dean of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.
Anyone know what Danny Kortchmar is up to now?He seemed to be the go-to guitarist on so many records in the 70's and 80's by Taylor,Linda Ronstadt,Warren Zevon,so many others.
Although not the technically best version he's ever done, what a great one to see, love that flashback, and very unique.....I love that he plays it "seriously" vs how he usually does it ie in this half-jokey kinda way.
Yes. it is again that virtue of JT to place very little notes but every one hits the spot. Then there is the change of signature into 3/4 for just the right amount of time... very special.
I didn't know Julian casablancas was old enough to play guitar for James Taylor haha

Back when "ol' stringbean" still had hair. For a guy who grew up in the Berkshires in MA, he can do a pretty decent job at the blues!

@theiceberry777 Yup, I went to UNC and lived in an apartment in Carrboro, just north of Hwy 54. His dad was the head of pediatric medicine at NCMH.
