  • "Just as advanced as anything being made in the US..."

Probably. So why not simply buy U.S. made? Why develop your own when you can save some money and buy their tech?

  • @cadmus98 more advanced

  • @cadmus98 They say just as advanced, but it is more advanced, it is autonomous, it can think for itself and act on it. Nothing in the US air force can do that.

  • Lots of jealous Americains...

  • @SirDouchingtonThe3rd Yup ...always is.

I like it though lol. I like reading their desperate outbursts on British military vids.

    I feed off their jealousy.

  • BAE is a terrorist organization. Stealing your money to spy on and kill you and you are proud of it? Are you human?

  • @TheARMAProductions Ignore him, he's one of those Americans who thinks everything and everything is used or invented by the US.

  • The United Kingdom's First (UCAV) Unmanned Combat Air Vehicle, BAE Systems is Building this For Furture Air 2 Ground Wars & Spy Missions.

  • @BritishLad87 Its not britains first. We already have had predator-like drones for a number of years.

Now if BAE wants to really impress then they'll have to get these babies ready and aircraft carrier takeoff/landing capable in time for the big upcoming order to fill up our two new carriers. The look on the americans face when we tell them that we don't want any of there F35 junk - priceless.

  • It may look like something Boeing may be playing with but this has been in the works for a while.. BAE buy a leading US developer of UAV's 2 years ago and Brit boffins do a little reported scram/ram jet test less than 14months ago... Well looks like this thing could hit Mach4+ the only speed that would make a scramjet, fuel efficient to go global on internal reserves. No wonder everyone's jumping up and down and getting worried about this thing.. If I were a potencial target I would be worried!

  • @TheBritishEngineer so has the phantom ray. it was actually revealed before the Taranis, though i personally think it was a joint project. the US and the UK developed the Harrier together, think this is much the same situation.

we can all agree the US + UK = best alliance ever!

  • @bigreddawg91 Were not really friends anymore, never were, the US only wants to help if they get oil or money.

  • @Elitepoosniff false, Thanks to Winston Churchill, we've been allies for a very good reason, such as our National values

  • @bigreddawg91 Sorry but I have to agree with the other guy - americas not a great allie to have right now. Its military superiority has made america arrogant and hungry for war.

Also America has a bad habbit of scapegoating and/or turning on allies with little or no provocation (see US media turning on France recently, and the US turning on Pakistan - one of its strongest allies vs. terrorism... they now have to exchange intel via 3rd parties because of the bullshit US media+politicians

  • @neverfearchrisishere ah yes, our current administration has a way of doing that. but the majority of americans appreciate britains aid, they treated 9/11 as a personal attack. I'd have to digress with you on allies vs. terrorism. the saudi government is firm on it. I've never been a fan of france, my personal opinions... etc...

  • @bigreddawg91 .... Why aren't you a fan of france?

have you ever been to the country? I'd geuss no.

Where have you learned everything about the country? American media? So whats formed your opinion of the country? How do you think propaganda works?

    .

propaganda is the drip feeding of information so you reach the conclusion that someone else wants you to reach...

    e.g.

The French get more holiday time in a year than americans get in a decade.

    or

France is poor with almost no $billionaires!

  • @neverfearchrisishere oh no i've been to france, about 14 years ago, and was treated like shit simply because I was american. And for the record, I've lived in the US for a grand total of 5 years of my life.

  • @bigreddawg91 , but our little dispute aside, Great Britain and The United States will rule the skies with these things. No other country has anything even near to matching the Taranis and the Pantom Ray.

  • @MrDeano324 just got this message, weird huh? anyways i did some more research many british sites call the Taranis the BAE version of the phantom ray. I mean i just keep seeing evidence that it may have been a joint project. I mean the US and UK developed the Harrier II together, proving we work well together, so why should this be any different? =D

  • looks a lot like the boeing phantom ray. and i mean a LOT

  • @bigreddawg91

All countries use computers to calculate what best shape for stealth aircrafts. So it's no wonder that many of them look same.

  • @MokomaSusi the reason i say that is because even the triangular UCAV up front is near identical, I did some research though, and an article noted that it's the BAE version of Boeing's phantom ray, so perhaps there was joint development? and each operator took from it what they wanted?

  • @MokomaSusi sorry typo, not a UCAV, im assuming its the intake

  • @bigreddawg91 Well the U.S always have to copy new innovative things that they havnt got already, so it does stand to reason.

  • @MrDeano324 actually that's more the russia's specialty, and the boeing phantom ray was unveiled may 2010, while the taranis was unveiled on july 2010, now according to the dates, it would seem the opposite of your claim is true as the US came out with it before the brits, however, if my suspicion that they look identical, then i will give the benefit of the doubt, for it looks like Boeing and BAE may have actually worked together in development, is this concept reasonable?

  • UAVs SUCK!

  • The might of Britannia.

  • Can it carry similar version of TSAR???

  • "Alright lads, we need to make one of those killer robitic toys like the Yanks lend us. But let's make it more terrifying than satans last nights curry..."

Excellent work. Hopefully these things will turn out well and keep out lads, and our lad's American and Euro mates a little bit safer. It needs a doo-hickie on the exhaust ports that make it scream like a banshee on attack. Show 'em a REAL Western Devil...

  • @korodore i think its nice but it doesn't seem to have any combat abilities like our uavs do. once you add some missiles or anything it is no long stealth craft.

  • @gibblets17 "our uav's" like the Pred? Horses for courses my friend. Preds are just the thing for circling the tali for hours on end. Speed and stealth would be a waste of weight and run-time. This thing looks far more suited to deep strikes on technologically advanced nations / naval craft, where it's got to get under defences to do it's job.

No longer stealth with missiles? Consider the F117. When you DO see 'em it's for a second. And then its too late, (and its gone stealth again) ;)

  • @korodore no you physically cant mount missiles on this thing without making it stick out on radar like a sore thumb. its all about the shape mate. unless they have a resesed missile bay that pops open when needed. but i don't see that. this looks plane and simple a scout craft. but thats good. scouting is really important too. especially if you enemy doesn't know your doing it. im just saying its doesn't look like it has attack abilities so far.

  • @gibblets17 this was designed as a UCAV, ie for combatting other aircraft and it has 2 internal weapons bays, why the hell would they build a stealth UCAV then slap a load of missiles on the outside making all their work completely useless, thats right, they would'nt

  • Search The Devils Flying Pyramid for more info.

  • great job BAE nice work

  • if they have it built already and have announced it for all to see on the news be sure that they have two at least, one for static and engine testing another for flight tests that's what happened in WW2 but pressure on the British army in Afghanistan could see it begin rushed after all it its unmanned which has obvious benefits!

  • Awesome BAE FTW

  • Great.. :/
