The embryo is not a life- it is a ball of tissue- so saying that abortion is murder is wrong. The mother, who is the one alive, has rights over the embryo-ball of tissue- in her uterus. The Ball of tissue is inside the mother and it is not alive,THAT IS WHY CHOOSING TO ABORT IS NOT MURDER. I am not saying abortion is right- but it is for sure a right of the mother. A ball of tissue should not have more say than someone alive.

I work in a bankruptcy law firm. About 2/3 of our clients are black. At least half of them are on SSI, are uneducated, if they work at all they work extremely low paying jobs that require little or no thought, and most made extremely poor decisions regarding their personal finances (i.e. ridiculously high credit card and pay day loan debts). The rest actually work hard they just got snowed under by medical bills and couldn't afford their other debts any longer.
I sympathize with the hard working people that had medical problems, not the ones leaching away at my tax dollars and making shitty financial decisions. To suggest that others that are educated and made intelligent financial decisions should pay, by order of the federal government, for their mistakes is ludicrous. A social safety net is important but it should have limits.
One segment of society cannot continuously prop up another simply by throwing money at it. The key is to convince them to value education. Sadly most on the lower socioeconomic rungs of society do not b/c their parents did not and so their own children will not. They are happy to leach off of the government and force others to pay for their mistakes. To continue obliging them will bankrupt the US Treasury and lead to economic and social collapse (i.e. anarchy).

Actually, Obama voted against legislation in Illinois that would protect children that were born after failed abortions. Let us be clear, these were cases where the abortion had happened, it had failed, and the child was completely out of the womb, separated from the mother, and left to die. The law in question would have provided such children protection and the right to medical care, but Obama voted no. That is by definition infanticide.

What's at issue are Illinois SB 1082 and the Federal BAIPA, these are 'DEFINITION' bills. They only regard HOW one defines the term 'baby'. Illinois ALREADY HAS a law (statute 720 ILCS 510/6) that states a viable fetus that is 'born alive' must be tended to like any other human patient. Obama's votes were about preserving Abortion rights, which were being threatened by legal wording.
The last version of the Illinois laws Obama voted against had a clause to protect Roe. It was identical to the legislation in the U.S. Senate that Barbra Boxer and Ted Kennedy voted for.
The existing laws did not protect these children as evidenced by nurse Jill Staneck's undisputed testimony before the Illinois Senate that children were left to die after separation from their mothers.

One must have a grasp of the continuum fallacy (fallacy of the beard) when considering the creation of a life and applicable rights. It's not black and white. Potential and predestination are not strong arguments either in philosophy or Christianity. I doubt McCain is even familiar with them anyway.

The facts: babies are not able to eat, breathe, feel for themselves, they do not have organs and do not resemble humans until 3 MONTHS OLD. They are not aware or conscious and will not feel any pain if aborted. Abortion is an issue only because our society has abandoned Gods Word. God would rather nip this problem in the bud before the child is even born. Deuteronomy 22:13-21 says if a husband marries a girl and finds her not to be a virgin, then she is to be stoned to death. Notice the girl is to be killed without a concern of whether she might be pregnant. God doesnt want that selfish man stuck raising a baby which wasnt his! No matter what the circumstance, no matter how the human life was conceived, it was still conceived and that is an act of God. Not the means of rape but the means of the new life being conceived is an act of God. We are not to interfere with anything that God does. I thought McCain was a "straight talker"? In this election I'm most concerned with our economy, (an issue he admittadely doesn't know much about) and how people who aren't millionaires survive in it. To say abortion is a "hot button" issue is an understatement. My Sunday School teacher has told me point blank he didn't "see how a Democrat could call himself a Christian." That's pretty much the point of view.
Personally, I'm tired of the Republican Party.

I understand how the Religious Right can be pro-life (though I don't agree). But the rest of the Repulican ideals are completely the opposite of what Jesus taught. They don't seem to remember the whole "it is easier for a camel to fit through the eye of a needle than a rich man to get into heaven" bit. Or the "blessed are the poor, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" thing. Or the bit about peace and being tolerant of other people.

I don't think all republicans are greedy and corrupt. i think some (not many, but some) are genuinely trying to make improvements. but i get frustrated when all these old white Republican men who don't support welfare and think that poor people are poor because they don't work hard.
i agree that neither party wants to end abortion, but at least the democrats arent lying about it. both parties pander too much. i agree about that. But as a liberal, i prefer the Democratic party. Obviously.

Welfare does nothing but keep the unemployed and uneducated happy with their miserable socioeconomic status. I work in a bankruptcy law firm. About 2/3 of our clients are black. At least half of them are on SSI, are uneducated, if they work at all they work extremely low paying jobs that require little or no thought, and most made extremely poor decisions regarding their personal finances (i.e. ridiculously high credit card and pay day loan debts). The rest actually work hard they just got snowed under by medical bills and couldn't afford their other debts any longer.

To suggest that others that are educated and made intelligent financial decisions should pay, by order of the federal government, for their mistakes is ludicrous. One segment of society cannot continuously prop up another simply by throwing money at it. The key is to convince them to value education. Sadly most on the lower socioeconomic rungs of society do not b/c their parents did not and so their own children will not. They are happy to leach off of the government and force others to pay for their mistakes. To continue obliging them will bankrupt the US Treasury and lead to economic and social collapse (i.e. anarchy).

Actually, Obama voted against legislation in Illinois that would protect children that were born after failed abortions. Let us be clear, these were cases where the abortion had happened, it had failed, and the child was completely out of the womb, separated from the mother, and left to die. The law in question would have provided such children protection and the right to medical care, but Obama voted no. That is by definition infanticide.

What's at issue are Illinois SB 1082 and the Federal BAIPA, these are 'DEFINITION' bills. They only regard HOW one defines the term 'baby'. Illinois ALREADY HAS a law (statute 720 ILCS 510/6) that states a viable fetus that is 'born alive' must be tended to like any other human patient. Obama's votes were about preserving Abortion rights, which were being threatened by legal wording.

The last version of the Illinois laws Obama voted against had a clause to protect Roe. It was identical to the legislation in the U.S. Senate that Barbra Boxer and Ted Kennedy voted for.
The existing laws did not protect these children as evidenced by nurse Jill Staneck's undisputed testimony before the Illinois Senate that children were left to die after separation from their mothers.
Thanks for the recitation of the party line, but what do Obama's kids have to do with the issue.
