@hitit2wice - I've used 4 x 4's with notches cut in for the one v-shaped guide rail to rest in. I then secure them with screws while I'm sawing. I'm not particularly happy with my setup, however. I'm going to try to come up with something that is simpler to set up. I want to spend less time setting up and more time cutting! I'll post something when I have the new design ironed out.
Does that have a cover to go over the spinning blade. It looks like your just fractions of an inch away from ripping your fingers off. I hope thats not the blade that you hand are about to touch!
@pinehillprimitives1 - Hi, Yes, it does have a blade cover that covers the areas where the wheels are. It had become damaged so it was off pending getting a new one from the manufacturer. The cover would not, however, cover the cutting area which is what you are referring to. I was holding the wood so that it would not move from the force of the blade. I have since created a mechanism for holding the wood in place that doesn't involve my hand. My new setup is as as safe as possible!
How do u keep the log from from shifting during the cut?
