  • è una cagata pazzesca ahahahah con tutto il rispetto

  • I have been looking, do you have a suggested set up for the D7000?

  • Fucking stupid ass loser go brush you're yellow teeth fucker

  • @photolitherland To get a video camera with a sensor that size with interchangeable lenses and the depth of field you can get from that will set you back a minimum of 20 to 30k, some of the newer cameras are getting there the Panasonic AG-100 is a micro four thirds mount video camera that has all the benefits of a DSLR. But it has only just been relesed

  • Hey man! Where could i possibly buy this extra gear? :D

  • @PeculiarObsessions Did a blog post on it a while back here tdepost.com/blog/2010/3/16/the-infamous-parts-list.html

  • very nice rig! I´ve just orderd a proaim ff + mattebox, can´t wait to get it :-)

  • um...

  • How much is a rig like that.

  • @medialab23 You coudl put it together for about a grand give or take

  • @evanbutson Sweet! Thanks Evan

  • I think it's hilarious how many people are suggesting there is an issue with either using DSLR or 24fps for shooting. I would suggest that the 7D is probably the default camera in industry right now (indy films, and commercials). Nikon missed out not shooting 1080p (I shoot with the D300s). 24fps is standard in the film and TV animation industry as well (I'm an animator). It's always simply converted to the appropriate frame rate...

  • Very cool set-up. I would love to get a seriously video rig, but the cost to entry seems pretty massive. Do you mind sharing the approximate cost of the rig (minus the camera)?

  • Just buy a video camara ffs

  • wow you have nice kits... mind sharing your film that u did with d300s?

  • @Mat7Sohai sure, they are all on my vimeo channel which is tdepost

  • you from UK? where can u get thgis cheap in UK? also any footage online from this setup? K

  • Where did u buy all your kid.... Please, its amazing

  • @Erickarem Did a blog post on it a while back here tdepost.com/blog/2010/3/16/the-infamous-parts-list.html

  • Amazing rig! Thanks for sharing.

  • I don't suggest using a still camera for video shooting due to the fact that there is limited capabilities

  • U wouldn't but the d300s for its video men!

  • @matsas16193 I assume you mean you wouldnt use the D300s for its video? I have both a 7D and a D300s and to be homest they booth shoot nice video compared to pretty much any straight video camera. Is the 7D better for video sure, but the D300s still produces really nice footage. And as a stills camera, I think the Nikons shits all over the Canon, personal preference I know, but hey, thats how I feel.

  • @evanbutson I have the d300s also!but it's very difficult to focus manually especially when it comes to action scenes!I think nobody would use a dslr for their video!Although its a nice touch to these cameras! No doubt about the quality of the pics!(talking about d300s cause i haven't used the 7d!

  • Where did you get the eyepiece? Is there one that has a good image?

  • @wreckdiver001 That one I am using is the Hoodman that isnt very good at all, I have since replaced it with a LCDVF eyepiece and am very happy with it.

  • @evanbutson I have the same setup, have you been able to find any filters for the matte box?

  • @fourth1000 They are just standard 4 x 4 filters, I have a .3, .6, .9 and a 1.2 ND filter, I ordered them all from B&H in the states.

  • i really impressed with the steadicam for DSLR 300s - in Vietnam, we are not in a position to do something similar steadicam like this - I want a steadicam like this can you help me? - I can buy that this steadicam where and how? - Thanks you help me doing this - all the details hope you can send the mail to me plz ( dohaininhvn@gmail.com ) - thank you for all

  • how much does it cost u in total mate?

  • @kenishiro The rig probably cost about $1800 total, but I have just rebuilt it using a CPM Filmtools cage, which is quite cost effective and so this time it would probably be closer to about $1000.

  • @evanbutson what? seriously? really just below $2k.. that is so cool.. i thought it was like close to $10k or something.. thanks for the info mate. i am thinking of building a rig of my own.. any tips would b greatly appreciated.

  • @kenishiro Check out CPM Filmtools, their cages are very nicely priced, I have one and am taking it to the World Cup to shoot

  • i see how this could be really cool, but what are you gonna record for 5minutes , its all show and no go

  • @ithree6mafia Not really, other than interviews it is VERY rare that a shot gets even close to 5 minutes. Maybe for home movie types who just leave the camera rolling all the time it seems short, but for film people who are used to 400 foot camera loads, 5 mins or 12 mins on the Canon dont feel like a limitation, they are just what we are used too!

  • what a waste of money, If you are interested in filming, i rather you buy a professional Video camera. D300s got only 720p. Sucks. And with only 24 FPS.

  • @sgdevilzz Not really I also have a 7D, 720p for most things is more than enough, most clients are requesting digital delivery for the web or DVD, practically no HD at all. and 24p has a very nice filmic feel to it, as I live it a PAL country retiming it to 25 is not a big deal with a slight pitch correction on the audio. So a waste of money, not really. As a still camera I much prefer the Nikon to Canon, but as a video only camera the 7D is a clear leader, but they both produce amazing footage

  • @quaxk just did a weeks shooting at a mine and not a single shot has jello, al about how you use the camera. I come from a film background where fast moves generally result in stacato looking shots anyway, so I am use to adjusting for it.

  • I really like this rig and think it will make for a stable platform. Follow focus is a must.

The eyepiece has to be a big help. Good job.

  • Greatness.

  • i want this rig so much!

  • Nice work Auzzi

  • Hello from Paris !

You say in your video that the follow focus from Proaim is OK but not as good as other one.

Is it smooth, précise, what about construction quality ?

    Francis

  • @francisfrenkel I actually got ended up tightening the mounting screw and then it was perfect, so now I am 100% happy with it.

  • can I get one of those Hoodman eye pieces for the canon EOS 7D? It has a 3 inch screen. If not are there any other brands of eye pieces? Thanks

  • The shoulder mount adds a third poitn of contact and greatly aids with stability which is the main purpose (stops the jellow video effect) additionally I have a LCD battery and radio mic mount that will go on the back to counter balance the front weight a fair bit as well.

  • As for the rods, yep, you can move the handles forward all the way, with the setup as is, you dont see them up to about 20mm, anything wider and you have problem, although the bellows are more of an issue than the rods at that size. The pole is a springed Pole from DVTEC, they sell a similar shoude rmount system

  • @MichaelFrymus true a lot of the weight is at the front that is what the support springed rod is for, I have a different setup now where I have to carbon rails going over the shoulder where I mount a beachtek, radio mic and battery, that along with a few other bits have balanced it so I dont use the springed rod nearly as much.

The two rods at the front are RedRock Micros, if you move it much forward that that you will probably see them when you are wide.

  • omg thats cool haha!

  • Were i can buy this Rig????

  • Pretty much all hand built from different bits, main suppliers are

    RedRock Micro

    ProAim

    CineVate

    DVTEC

  • Looks great and I can see its got good functionality. Good stuff.. Im getting a D300s to go with my D200.

  • First of all, I just want to say that is very cool. The only thing is I think you're better off building something like that for a high quality camcorder. 5 mins of HD video on the D300s does not justify the need for a rail that high in quality.

  • Hi, not really sure what you getting at here, how long a camera records for doesnt really equate to quality, I had a Super 16mm camera that only took 100 foot loads internally, that doesnt mean it was any lower quality. Other than for interviews I cant remember the last time I did a shot that lasted a couple of minutes let alone 5. The reason for the rails etc is stability, which in many ways is MORE necessary for a DSLR than a normal video camera.

  • Hello there Evan. How are ya mate. Very nice set up. I would like to know if this set up exists for the 5d mark 2 and if there is anyway u could tell me where to get the parts if so. Much apreciated. Greetings from brazil. John
