hahahah $1000 worth of CPU, only overclocked to a whopping 4.2 GHz. You may as well have bought a 2500K i7 and gotten it to 4.6Ghz or more because theres no way youll make use of that CPU ever, not to mention that CPU alone adds an extra useless thousand to the price.

Why would you get a $1000 i7 processor that's watercooled and only push it to only 4.1 Ghz what a fucking loser. My AMD 1090T is running 4.2 Ghz aircooled at ~48 degrees on my Noctua D14. At least use the power you're paying for.

@Kole208 Actually the 1090T has 6 cores, the exact same number of cores as that $1000 processor has. And the number of cores is a pretty poor indication of the power of a CPU. There are many 4 cores that are better than mine, and the new Bulldozer 8 core is shit... and no the clock speed is the effective data rate so it has a massive effect on speed. In relation to your example, I think this guy is an idiot because - why buy a Ferrari if you are only going to drive it like a mustang?

@tornpixel what i meant by that example is if you get a mustang tune it to its max, say it goes 180mph, or you get a ferrari and tune it pretty good say you can go 240mph i related that to the processor by saying the more hybrid one with a lower clock would still be faster, get it now?

the only addition to it is being epeen no more no less a 4k$ system is much better than a 2k$system in both gaming wise and work wise but it may not be x2 faster or may be x2 faster depends on what you use it with, gaming wise there is marginal difference but work related wise there is a nice difference but overall if you calculate it it's not x2 faster, it should be around 1.6x to 1.8x faster

990x for gaming is the most retarded thing ever. quad core at 4Ghz+ like a 2500k is the best choice both price and performance wise. Most games only use 2 cpu's, even the newest ones. It's not future proof either, it will take a few years before a 6 core cpu will be needed to keep up with games and by that time there will be much more powerful and cheap cpu's available.

i just got x4119 with my pc which has two evga gtx570s @885Mhz and a i5 2500k @ 4.5Ghz. Max cpu temp through test was 48C and max gpu was 37C. my rig only cost me like 2.5 to 3k..............

For 4k, i'd hold off on the WC, and the X58 platform. Z68 is cheaper and faster. Plus the money saved here equates to another GPU. But again, insead of 2 gtx 590's i'd go with 3 580s
