  • Hey man, I'm really sorry for asking this, but is it possible for you to send me the dimensions for the guitar? I would really appreciate that

  • where did you get that neck from?

  • how did you know what depth to make the pickup holes, and stuff?

  • I made something similar, but what i did was just mount legs to an SG xD Works like a charm, i even put lights in both legs so when i play it shines through the top of the legs !

  • where'd you buy the parts?

  • did you make the neck?

  • so is the finished guitar 3/4 of an inch thick?

  • @Shredderistic6

    No, its 1-3/4 inches.

  • can you send me the dimensions please ?

  • i like this song whats it called

  • @nwickware17

Fire in the Sky by Hypocrisy

  • @matt420740 0:34 that riff is straight from a Children of Bodom's song.

  • @Art4t54

Alexi was going to play guitar for Hypocrisy during their North American tour. I doubt he'd play for someone who stole his riffs. Besides, Peter Tägtgren, the man behind Hypocrisy, is one of Alexi's idols. He has his own studio, and production credits on over 90 albums, including 2 Bodom albums.

  • Where is a Good Place To Buy The Wood To Build and Make This Guitar and What are The Instructions and How Long Will It Take For It To Dry Up and Where is a Good Place To Buy The Neck Please Reply Quickly To Tell Me All Those Questions But Someone Who Knows

  • why 3 peices?

  • @whitedime

Because its hard to come across Alder boards that are 16" wide. And when you do happen to find lumber that size, the prices can be pretty high. Even most body blanks sold by companies online are around 14" or so wide, for a normal shape body. For an RR you need close to 15.5" at the bottom.

  • awesome guitar Last year i made my first guitar a les paul 59, i did a very good job on it.

i was wondering where you got you plans.

  • hi great guitar, and it sounds nice!!!!

i was wondering what glue you used to glue the wood together

  • Yea. Good eye :)

  • Where do you buy SKJ pickups?

  • dimensions?

  • I sent you a PM

  • what song is this?

  • "Fire in The Sky", by Hypocrisy.

  • This is cool man. About 18 years ago my friend and I built our own guitars too. Mine was a very thin Strat® with a real Charvel® neck off a model 1. But his was a 6/12 double neck Jackson® V !! He sold it to a guy in an Alice Cooper cover band lol! I would like to see it again someday.

  • Thanks dude. I was gonna go with a Warmoth neck actually, but I found another company that had a Jackson style neck that was cheaper and good quality, so I went with them. I've never seen a double V before, I bet that was awesome :)

  • do u remember what the company was called, cuz ive been looking everywhere including ebay and i couldnt find a good deal

  • Go search on E-bay for "Eden Neck", and you'll find plenty. There on sale right now.

  • Congrats, man! That's a cool project!

Do you have a place to do this stuff (i.e. cut wood and all) or are you doing it with what you got? (like me, building my guitar in the laundry room, LOL)

  • I've got a pretty decent workshop, but I still need to get a lot more tools. I actually built most of this guitar outside.

  • Dude thats gonna be awesome!!!

  • Thanks buddy :)

  • What a cool project and pro-like work! Is this your business?

  • I wish it was my business. Maybe I'll make some money off of it someday, but right now its just a hobby :)

  • Great job I hope it works out ! cant wait for part two

  • Great video, I turned a "peavey raptor plus" into a "ibanez jem-555" but mine doesn't have the floyed rose or the gold hardwear. :( It turned out alot beter than I though it would.

  • thanks dude, check out my other vid where I turn a RG from a Tremelo to a hardtail

  • thats nice matt i have also a sort of jackson model and i must tell you the play great and the feel great yea keep on the good work you can better work in a guitar shop ^-^

  • Thanks Ben!!

  • dude thats awsome lol i was thinking about getin a jackson after i herd some stuff about them and tryed one of my friends out but i dont really feel like spending that much money lol but i cant wait to see what this comes out like when finished cuz i bet it will be godly

  • do you have instructions you are going by? also how money will you save doing it yourself? you have peaked my interest :) might have to try this myself!

  • thanks scbene!! I don't really have any instructions. I used a picture of a Jackson RR, and brought it up to scale. Then I made a template out of plywood. I'm just going by the seat of my pants. I have around $200 in this project, and its using the same exact wood that jackson uses on their $1000 RR's.

  • that's awesome man! if it all works out you could sell instructions and templates on how to do this!

  • Matt, dude...i love the way you are posting these videos of you making your guitars!

  • cant wait to see the end result. good luck.

  • dude matt ur SMART :) instead of wastieng like 500 dollers or more i dunno know much the guitar cost but thast alot cooler AND smarter i hope it works :) good

  • no problem man, I CANT WAIT to see the finsihed product! ill be tuned in

  • uhm, nice, i like the Rhoads too

your talent man, are you a luthier ? :D

  • Na, I'm just a rookie trying to start a new hobby. Maybe someday I could make some money doing this. Thanks for the comment!

  • dude thats fucking awesome man!

  • Thanks scott!!

  • kickass dude!!! but i woulda went with a floyd rose, just my opinion. i'm eager to see the finished product. i'm planning to do the same thing, but neck-through with an ESP style headstock, that is, as soon as i get enough cash

  • thanks dime. I prefer a hardtail for my style. Better tuning stability and tone. I don't do much lead anyways. I'll eventually try a neck through, but I'm just a rookie at this right now, and I'll save that for later. Good luck with yours dude, And i'll try my best to record tommorow :)

  • cool man.

  • I just happen to login and hahah you know what I think about Jacksons -- you can name it RR-M1

  • I might just have to name it that dude. I just hope it comes out okay :)
