Here's some truth from Europe: We did not welcome GMOs AT ALL! Our damn corrupt leaders introduced GMOs bowing to the pressure of the WTO... Before that there was a total ban on them! We should have continued to ban it, but no, money always finds a way to some corrupt pockets.

Great video. Please make more! I will be out protesting on 10-16. As for the GMO list, there a few items you should add. I am gardening & was shocked at the GMO products that are marketed to gardeners- Soybean Meal, Animal Manure (fr. factory farms where animals are fed GMO grains, drugs & arsenic) & potting soil & mixes with moisture retention or wetting agents that are made from GMO corn. And do NOT buy Monsanto's Round-up or Scotts products (incl Miracle Gro) they are in bed w Monsanto.

I'm a school teacher and small farmer. I tried to get just cheap soybeans that are not Roundup Ready but now you can't find them. They seed distributors can't even get them. Someone has cornered the marked. I have to pay the price.

This goes over the head of most sheep and the brief time I decided to ask the tough questions over at Trader Joes about irradiation and GMO's from their blueberries that came from Chile I had to return because they had no flavor and wanted to buy local fruit. Couldnt find info on irradiation of their fruits and veggies. Probably just as hard getting them to tell you about GMO's.

I strongly recommend people see the film "food inc" there is quite a bit of info on how monsanto runs its criminal enterprise. farmers that hold out from buying monsantos GM crops get surrounded by other farmers that were forced into buying their seeds. as a result a "hold out" farmer gets his crop pollinated with monsantos GM strain. Then monsanto sues the farmer for copyright infringement, takes his farm, or forces him into a contract to buy ONLY monsanto products.

I've lived in the Northern Plains all my life. The biggest crop in my area used to be flax until about the late 70's. Now it's all corn and soybeans. In my youth, I remember corn failing in low rain years. Now it seems to grow to bumper crop stats even in dry years. Corn that doesn't need rain? Something pretty weird about that if you ask me.

I have written to my congress-person who, unfortunately is now in a Houston hospital recovering from gunshot wound to the head so you know where I am and the huge challenge of getting AZ. to pass local laws. @ebent24 I'll agree with emulsified bio-diesel but the Ethanol plant where I live uses most of the corn grown to feed it and Ethanol is subsidized by federal govt. If it's so great, why subsidize it? Same with wind here. Vestas got over a 2 billion bailout of our tax dollars and they are from Denmark. Solar has been around for over 30 years and still too expensive for most people. Also where I live is dry and hemp would flourish. Too bad it scares ignorant people.

Heard from a reliable source that Monsanto is terrified that consumers will pressure legislators to enact laws stopping the creation of new GMOs due to the increase in weed tolerance. They don't want you to know that their product, Roundup (glyphosate), doesn't work anymore, and that they've made the price so low that farmers are dumping gallons of the stuff on their land several times a growing season. GMOs are not the answer. The weeds are finding ways to survive.

We've decided not to certify our farm even though it is an organic farm. We don't bring anything in from off-farm except seed for our garden. Our cattle, sheep, goats and chickens provide the compost. We use minimal fossil fuel, about 100L/year,and working towards none. The list of foods you give that likely contain GMOs if not organically certified is good! However, organic certification is stating to develop some of its own problems. When it's done on a vast scale and shipped around the world, it pretty much looses its "earth gentle" qualities.

Organic food is only more expensive at the moment for a couple of reasons. As energy costs increase, so will industrially produced food. Also organic food is currently suffering from being fashionable to some extent. Once it becomes more mainstream and people start to see things more clearly, we'll find ways to afford it. Keeping it as local as possible will be key.
