The main diference between the Bossa and the Samba is the tempo., as, Batucada, Forro, etc. Bossa doesn't have to be Jazzy. Gerry Zaragemca, ( Gerry Zaragemca, is a known world's authority in Afro Cuban Percussion and Music).
I was 15 when Abraxas came out. I used to put the album on the stereo at night and listen to it in the dark. Samba Pa Ti was immediately one of my favorites; and still is today. I think the words are beautiful. Finding out that Carlos Santana wrote them for Jose Feliciano is even better. Thanks for posting it. I love them both.

Esta enterpretacion no hacia falta, en verdad es muy liviana y simple para lo que El Maestro Santana hizo con solo la guitarra. Sin palabras Carlos Santana le da vida a la cancion, hace llorar, la hace llegar a las profundidades mas lejanas y espirituales. Transforma a uno a un sitio que no tiene comparacion. Aunque admiro mucho a Jose Feliciano y tambien es un genio, fue buen intento pero a Feliciano le falto llegar al mismo nivel de ecstasy que Santana le haze llegar al ser humano.

Pues claro, este señor (José Feliciano) estudio mucho para ser lo que es, y no solo toca cosas "populachas", tambien tiene composiciones para guitarra clasica, solo que pues no es muy comercial y el "pueblo" no compra eso.
Santana tiene varias obras maestras gracias a su gran talento y que en sus principios se rodeo de musicos geniales,es indiscutible que mas adelante se rodeo de musicos de menos nivel quizas buscando ser mas comercial pero esos primeros albumes inmortales ahi quedaran para siempre,repito gracias a un conjunto de musicos geniales(el tambien)que hacen que escuchar esos temas sea una delicia.

Santana is great on an electric guitar but he has not the versatility of Jose. I mean, the man is able to play any kind of music from classic, flamenco, jazz, rock on a nylon string as well as on an electric at the same level as the greatest in the particular field. And he is self-taught.

jose has enscribido y grabado mas que 300 canciones de su composicion en mas que 60 albums en el mercado de todo el mundo (sus ultimo album en ingles Soundtrax of my Life de 2008 es todo de su composicion), 3 tema enteras de peliculas, de opera de teatro y tambien por orquestras. Jose recorded it in 1982 in his great album "Escenas de Amor" by Motown and that version is partially sung like here but... after become a fantastic guitar instrumental duet by Jose on classical guitar and Carlos Santana on electric guitar. This version is ONLY in that original record and in compilation called "Ayer Hoy y siempre", IN all others compilation where's included this song, is another alone version re-recorded in 1996 by Jose without his brother Carlos Santana.
It's funny. I was a kid when this happened in Chile, and I never appreciated his music. I thought it was like typical radio music, but I never really really appreciate it until now that I'm a 33 yrs old guitar player =). He's the master!

Segun tengo entendido Oye Como Va es de Tito Puente, Black Magic Woman es de Peter Green, Gypsy Queen es de Gabor Szabo, Evil Ways es de Sonny Henry,Y hay muchisimas canciones que Carlos copio y se hizo famoso por hacerlo. With no daught Jose is one of the best guitarist in the world, and has a great unique unmatched voice. We love him very much. He is From my fathers lovely town of Lares, Puerto Rico. I remember seing him playing live in Lares in the early 80's. The town was so full, people were even sitting on the plaza tree branches. It was a wonderful concert for his home town. I will never forget that experience. We are also proud that he is a cousin of my fathers cousin.

Santana would never want to compete with Jose or the vise a versa they are spirits of the same kind sort of like the left and right wings of a bird. Many times they have played together and they nare both the best ever the words to this song were written by Carlos to be sung by Jose and together they show that not all has to be like a football game with winners and losers. Santana is great on an electric guitar but he has not the versatility of Jose. I mean, the man is able to play any kind of music from classic, flamenco, jazz, rock on a nylon string as well as on an electric at the same level as the greatest in the particular field. And he is self-taught.

jose has enscribido y grabado mas que 300 canciones de su composicion en mas que 60 albums en el mercado de todo el mundo (sus ultimo album en ingles Soundtrax of my Life de 2008 es todo de su composicion), 3 tema enteras de peliculas, de opera de teatro y tambien por orquestras. Jose recorded it in 1982 in his great album "Escenas de Amor" by Motown and that version is partially sung like here but... after become a fantastic guitar instrumental duet by Jose on classical guitar and Carlos Santana on electric guitar. This version is ONLY in that original record and in compilation called "Ayer Hoy y siempre", IN all others compilation where's included this song, is another alone version re-recorded in 1996 by Jose without his brother Carlos Santana.

Reconozco que el señor José Feliciano es muy bueno tocando la guitarra, pero en realidad lo que me gusta de el es la manera de interpretar las canciones, no se si el las componga o sean de alguien mas, pero el punto es que lo que vende de el por decirlo de alguna forma, es su voz y manera de interpretar, ahora bien, la cancion que canta en este video se escucha mejor cuando el sr Carlos Santana la toca solo con su guitarra, al menos para mi, claro que en gustos se rompen generos.

No creo que Feliciano sea tan copion... Segun tengo entendido Oye Como Va es de Tito Puente, Black Magic Woman es de Peter Green, Gypsy Queen es de Gabor Szabo, Evil Ways es de Sonny Henry,Y hay muchisimas canciones que Carlos copio y se hizo famoso por hacerlo. Por que Jose no puede copiar una si Carlos lo ha hecho miles de veces? Ademas, todos sabemos que Santana es bueno por que tiene callo y colmillo con la guitarra, no por tener buena tecnica. With no daught Jose is one of the best guitarist in the world, and has a great unique unmatched voice. We love him very much. He is From my fathers lovely town of Lares, Puerto Rico. I remember seing him playing live in Lares in the early 80's. The town was so full, people were even sitting on the plaza tree branches. It was a wonderful concert for his home town. I will never forget that experience. We are also proud that he is a cousin of my fathers cousin.
