During the 1970's Nato with its share of UK/US/and German Generals all WW2 experience, a serious 'wargames' was held, it was held twice, concerning the invasion of Britain in 1940. The Invasion failed on both games. To place even one Division into the field requires vast back up forces, to sustain it while fighting for a week takes far more.
