A question.. I notice it seems all Aussie trailers have 3 axles, vs only 2 here in the US. Is this a road/highway department law requiring 3? Or are the trailers longer/heavier? We're 53 ft (trailer), and 80k combined (prime mover + 1 trailer) gross weight here in the States, is it different there for a single?
@HillbillyonaYZ Our trucks with prime mover and one trailer is 43.5t (metric) which is 95901 pounds. I drive an AB triple (showen in newer vids of mine) grossing at 102.5t (metric) which is 226000 pounds.
love the shot about 1:34, pigs at the rest stop, they never stop pickin on trucks, learn to hate them when you work on them for a livin, they make our busiest days for repairs so much busier
youd be surprised, i dont drive them at the moment, i just have to fix them and some of the 'defects' i have come in end up in a 2 day argument with the rta and the defect being cleared without having to do any work cos she's all legal to start with. the cops see trucks as revenue raisers, if a cop doesn't like trucks in general they'll do their best to stuff your day
love running the newell no rush just cruise everyone is friendlier, narrabri great to stop at woolies & kfc, dont mind spending some money out there with the bush folk, good to change it up from east coast express...tigerboi
Downunder they've some of the best Semi driver's known who have to make time on these very narrow roads,.not sure as to why as the Government reap a huge fuel tax,.not to mention Rego fees!!!
You have a bit of footage (at 1min 11sec) of a Dubbo operator's truck (Phil MacInnes of MacInnes Holdings Dubbo). The truck is a Peterbilt 379 (rego # AC00QN). This truck has Australia's first Cat C15 ACERT engine in it!
yeah! I call it "shaken baby syndrome" in parts. Great to see some local vids
