The old masters took their music seriously. If you were pure-of-heart and sincere to your craft, you could reach a higher plane of consciousness and touch the soul.

I have listened to half-a-Doz renditions of this song by other singers and they are all missing one thing: soul. Tufail breaks a piece of his own and puts it in his songs. That's why they sound so sincere, and are so moving.

Now music is a business and all it inspires is the butt, to shake, while the music lasts. How fitting.

more than 25 odd years ago he came to visit India, and Jalandhar Doordarshan recorded a fantastic live concert by him in the studios. It was repeated many many times later. Black and white, I wonder if anyone has the recording: would be lovely to see it again.

this is the first time i have heard him sing. JUsT Beautiful and meaningful song. I am indian punjabi but love the pakistani punjabi music too. There is soooooo much similarity and great collection of music. Had it not been for the fucking religions there would be no indian punjabi, pakistani punjabi. I believe religion and nationalism are the main causes of war and death in this world.
