If I didn't know any better, I'd say that you stole this clip from "In a Mirror, Darkly" from ENT! But that's clearly the Enterprise, heh. This is an incredible job. Great work.
This is actually really close to how they've done it in the new Star Trek movie, simple, yet it effectively conveys the near instantaneous acceleration to warp speed - great work!
I liked your Enterprise model and the planet. One suggestion: your nacelles were a little red. You might want to kind of blur them and add some yellow. Otherwise this was fantastic.
The skin texture is very nice.

It was explained that thereafter some sort of technological advance occurred which made warping while in the solar system safe.

why did star trek the motion picture make a big deal of warp drive whilst in the solar system when they did it all the time after wards?
s1977spw2 1 year ago
this is probably how warp drive would look like in real life , no flashy streaks or anything and without the star flash in the end lol

TOS Enterprise is the best and I don't give a fiddler's cuss what J.J. Abrams has to say about it.

FINALLY!! After some 40-some-odd years, the original ship is shown going into warp. I am sure Gene wanted this effect when he was still around.

Now THAT, is an entering warp speed act. Might want to work on the nacelles light up a bit.

The bussards need to look less mechanical and more of an energy collector.
MasterJediKyleKatarn 1 year ago
No, its perfect, looks more realistic without the streak, looks awesome. Can you make one with another ship doing the same thing?

@Bateleur5 That episode title was a nod to one of Picard's lines in Star Trek: Nemesis where he said the same thing.

Which app did you render this in?
Also, I like the way your 'space' has that slight rotation thing going on. It really sells the shot.

There is a stretch and stars too. You tube just compresses things funny. :/
No streak though. I got lazy. :P

No streak? or stretch? Maybe youtube just makes the video too dim.
