They were paid, primarily to keep England and France from getting involved in the fray due to the debt that Mexico owed them from the revolt against Spain. We also assumed a large amount of debt owed by Mexico to American creditors.

Let's see...anthropologists think Asians migrated across Alaska all the way down to S. America. Spain invaded (yes, that's where your Spanish language came from). Aztecs enslaved other tribes (ethnicities/races). Indians (natives) are a genetic mix of all those. That's just scienctific truth.

I live in the East, and its common to see ethnic Celtic people who are amazingly talented at art, music, and storytelling. Many work construction or odd jobs to get by to work on their art. I"ve known "hillbillies" that were buried with their insturments that they played all their lives, without ever having had a lesson. We're losing our jobs to cheap illegal latinos and can't survive. .

@xXxBMFUxXx There are many good Mexicans down in Mexico. I've been down there and have had the chance to meet and talk with them. Many of them are just like you and I. Sometimes the Media portrays them to be something they are not which causes us to misunderstand them. They are not animals, they are human beings with hopes and dreams. Of course there is crime down south but crime is everywhere. Corruption is the lead contributing factor.

I agree with you, I have never been to Mexico but having lived most of my life in California, last 12 though in Nevada; I have known, worked with many people from Mexico and have no problem with most of them. They are like every one else, just trying to get by, raise and support their families. We need to have a much better immigration program so people do not have to resort to crossing the border illegally.
