:O:O:O MY GOD!!! I never knew nixon (in nexon vs frost) was skeletor lmao ..Ill never be able to watch FVN again.. without imagining nixon getting up and shouting "KNEEL BEFORE YOUR MASTER" lol
@thespiswolf I loved Langella as Dracula but the title goes to Christopher Lee.Lee and Langella both talented nice men. Both had greater careers after their Dracula movies.Frank just missed out getting a Oscar nod for Diary of a Mad Housewife years ago.
@erehgregrhegrhegr, As Cheesy as "Masters of The Universe" was as a film Langella's Skeletor was truly the best part of that movie, and its probably one of my favorite roles by him.
Apparently skeletor took on the form of nixon and became president. He failed the first time taking over earth dolph laundrens look alike he man stopped him. then he got smart and skeletor went to acting school
"It has to be the essence of the man, not an imitation of him." Langella accomplished a great thing with his portrayal of Nixon, because I can't imagine ANY actor doing a better job than he did. That's the only movie I've seen with Langella in it, too.
There is something else many of you might not know about Frank Langella. In his younger days, he was THE sexiest thing ever. Watch him in "Diary of a Mad Housewife", and "Dracula".
Many many years ago I saw "Dracula" on stage in NY. The memory of the character he portrayed is etched in my brain as the sexiest man I have ever seen on stage.
@laurac555 I thought I was the only one who thought so! I was watching him in a 90s movie called True Identity. He plays a mob boss and there's something quite sexy about him that I can't put my finger on...
He has said he loved playing Skeletor. When he was offered the role his son, who was three years old at the time, was running around in his underpants with a he-man sword. So he relished playing the villain.
I havent seen any of the movies up for Academy Awards but it seems the big rivalry for Best Picture is going to be between Slumdog Millionaire and Frost/Nixon.
Frank Langella got this part because Warren Beatty turned it down,Beatty is famous for turndown roles in Big Movies,he turend down the Redford part in 1969's Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,he also turned down the David Carridine role in the Kill Bill movies.
Yeah, he and Michael Sheen, who plays Frost in the movie, had already put on over a hundered performances by the time the movie went into production. Which probably made Ron Howard's job pretty easy.
No, no, no, mon ami! Frank stills looks wonderful, sexy and I could sit and listen to that purr of a voice forever...just read the telephone book, Frank. Sigh...lol.
He deserves to have a spot on the Hollywood walk of fame. :)

Isn't the movie based on the Frost/Nixon Broadway Play... in which Frank Langella already plays Nixon? I thought that was why he got the part.
