When a society of people desire freedom, they will claim it. True liberty cannot be given to people. It is a natural right that must be exercised. If you do not want it enough to fight for it, to die for it, then you will never keep it.
I've had a kind of epiphany and I want to ask, being atheist for the record, would the idea that god gave us all of our knowledge, tools, physical attributes etc. make Christians sort of misanthropic since they have faith in god instead of humankind? I'm only asking out of curiousity and not to make a point.
@Raiderfan123 To an extent, I'd say yeah. I've heard lots of Christians talk about how humankind's knowledge is really foolishness and the only true knowledge is through God, so I think in a sense you could say that.
@Raiderfan123 I know its an old post but your idea is just that, an idea. I really never heard of a Christian belief in this idea. Furthermore, I am of the humble opinion that every human has moments of believing there is a creator and moments of not believing there is a creator. We all change, being human that is.
Men make tools, men grind herbs and solvents for paints, men craft instruments. That metaphor is horrid! Men have always and will always produce, procure, craft, find or invent what they need. Stop looking for some third party to attribute human success to and believe in mankind!
sorry kike, he is telling his congregation how it his theologically impossible to believe in rights if there is no God. You have no rights if there is no God, sorry.
@HWPeterson88 ya hes saying thats its stupid to asign rights to people which have obviously been invented by people and NOT god. AND YES there still is rights in this world even without your precious little make belief god

I think God gives us the tools, the paints, the instruments. Everything He gives us is useful for something, or beautiful in itself.
We mix the colors. It is up to us to make the choices to paint our world in the way we want to.
