  • yep, the knack of a cold detroit :)

  • and the point of this video is?

  • Hollowed put mufflers with pipe welded through them

  • did it have hollowed out mufflers when you say it's straight piped or what?

  • id rather have a cat!

  • You shouldn't have sold it.

  • Sounds good we had a 200 classic like that but with a N14 hummins the detroits are better on fuel but cummins a little more power

  • oh a detroit my stomach hurts

  • Kenworthboy

    It's a Detroit NOT a Cummins

You better take a better listen next time your at your dads yard

  • Sounds Like a Cummin's to me.. Detroit Diesel's Scream way to much when there Idleing..95% of the yard my dad Parked in was Detroit's and the other 5 where ither Cat or Cummin's

  • it is cummins idle?

  • Sounded like a cummins when it started sounds simillar.

  • series 60's has such a soothing idle sound. :)

  • @chevy82250 They do. When cold, they idle at a higher RPM and run on 3 cylinders. Once slightly warmed, usually around 125 they sound sexy again. If its a 2003-2006 EGR equipped Series 60, they sound like a jet engine 1/4 mile away on fast idle that turbo sound is amazing.

  • wow no smoke. good desil

  • my dad drives a 2000 freightliner classic with a 500 cat 18 speed bitch hauls ass

  • i just bought a new kw the other day

  • nice truck

  • amen to that :D

  • I bought an 06 kenworth brand new and it was 129,000 that is with all power and sleeper

  • they could be well over 100,000 pending on what you get and what it all has..i have one that im selling, cause i no longer need it..its an 2007 western star has a sleeper, under 90,000 miles in excellent condition. Sell price im looking for 90,000 to 150,000..also has a 32 inch flat panel tv in the sleeper area & a mini fridge and a kick ass audio system..if your interested let me know message me via my inbox here

  • some cost over $200,000 if you get them after market sleepers

but an average luxury semi is running ya $120-150,000

  • It depends. Trucks like theese (Freightliner Classic) are medium to high price range (idk what this one costs because idk what year it is-they made this style for several years). Now say like a 2008 Peterbilt, you're looking at about $100,000 to 130,000 depending on engine brand and size, accessories, pusher/tag axles, etc.

  • oh, ok. I don't know much about big rigs, but I've always been curious as to how much truck drivers have to shell out for one of these.

  • yep Detroit Diesel, i have the same kind in the truck i drive, it too sounds like that after a day or 2 sitting in the cold, trucks are so fun to drive

  • Good ol Detroit Diesel if im not mistaken cause my dads sounds the exact same way on a cold start

  • wooo trucks, i use to drive them things it was really fun

  • looks like u got a detroit am i rite?

  • yup, that's a Series 60

  • kool that engine always reminds me of the straight piped black freghtliner classic my dad used to have

  • NICE!

  • yea nice truck

im gonna become one of you (owner operator, if thats what you do, i hear u own the truck)

but yeah ill be watching all ur vids!

  • Hey 00freightshaker I know from all of your posts on that other website that you put a lot of love into that truck. keep it up.
