  • Good vid... another tip-- if you don't have the hard drive magnets, you can take 3 or 4 regular magnets and just stack them. Their combined strength will be enough to move the security tab to the green unlock position. I just tried it, and it works great.

  • Now we have security cases on DVDs. What will the Illuminati think of next?

  • What about the Blue, Blu-Ray, please help ASAP!

  • Ridiculous the way they designed this case, so unnecessary ...

  • Thanks - Plus one on the fuckwits that sold it to my wife without opening it for her

  • I only had one of those magents on hand so I combined this method with your dart one (I used a pin instead) and it work a treat. Thanks so much mate, you're a dead set legend!

  • i oepned it with scissors

  • i unlocked mine by hacking into it with scissors, and now i can't close it, any idea of how i might open it?? magnets won't stick

  • Nice that the guy showin us how to lock/unlock the DVD case doesn't have to use garbage language to get it open, Some of you dumb commenters might try the same. Us ladies prefer gentlemen. Thanks, miyte.

  • Thanks SO much for the tip, mate! I just used magnets from a couple of name tags and it worked immediately! Cheers!

  • Too bad I didn't have any darts or small, sharp objects lying around... still had to resort to ripping the case open. Oh well!

  • thank you!!!! nearly drove back to the damn store to have it opened, then i saw this!!

  • Thanks! I forgot to unlock my Library movies, and didn't want to wait till they open again.

  • WHO MADE THESE FUKIN LOCKS WHUD GET FUKd

  • wtf wat if we dont hav magnets for fuck sake, wat are these dvd guy doing

  • i tried this but failed cause i couldn't see the lock things because it was a blue ray case ended up braking the lock with a flat bit of steel 2 my amazement i didn't brake the case video helped giving me a ruff i dear on what i had to brake

  • @TheHam42 it's idea

  • I work at a library where we have to lock DVD/CD cases. This is hella clever!

  • Nice video mate. Had a DVD the shop clerk forgot to open... Had a couple rare earth magnets on hand and your procedure worked great! Cheers.

  • dsalyers1 u r an idiot.. i bought max payne yesterday, got home, took 2 layers of heat shrink plastic off only to find i can't open the efn thing because of this magnet crap.

  • NOTE: This is for use for when you buy the DVD and they haven't unlocked your case. It is NOT intended for stealing DVDs from department stores or video shops.

if people want to abuse this it is not his fault

  • It's alot easier just getting a flat head screwdriver and just sliding the lock towards the way you want.

    easier than sliding the magnets.

  • you cant - the catches prevent this it is designed to only be opened with magnets without breaking the case...

  • @xxsseellxx

Thank you sooooo much!!!! I've taken DVDs back to retailers one too many time and was desperate to find a solution. The DVD was a present for father's day and now we can sit down and watch it....all because of you! You're definitely a hero in this house at the moment. Science kicks ass again!
