  • 1:46 am I the only one who gets excited at this part?

  • @lazypygmypuff me too

  • I Thought I recognized that voice!

  • This very pretty and to me unfamiliar song makes me sorry to have missed the movie! I love the Quilter setting of the same poem.

  • They're wearing far more makeup than was worn back then. The only women who painted their lips and eyes at that time were prostitutes.

  • love the hair!

  • Tennyson's poem; Mychael Danna's music

  • Absolutely breathtaking song....

  • Roger Quilter is the composer but I don't recognise this version. I was an extra in this scene and it was supposed to signify Becki's acceptance in Polite Society. Reese Witherspoon did provide the voice but it was synced, as is usual. It was filmed on the hottest day in July 2004 and with all the fires blazing inside, everyone had to put up with much discomfort. It took the entire day to film.

  • Really, this is synced? it sounds really live...I didn't know that..makes me feel better though, it's depressing to see how so many actors can sing live :) I'm glad they don't :D

  • Anyone know the music composer so I can get the sheet music?

  • Can anyone please explain the significance of this song to the movie? I know there had to be some meaning by behind other that it just being beautiful and romantic.

  • I absolutely LOVE the costumes of this film! Reese Witherspoon is absolutely charming.

  • This was like the BEST part of the movie!!lol

You should have shown everyone's faces before and after the song.lololol

    They were suprer-ass-holes in there!!lolol

  • It's like...my god...The Crimson Petal and the White! Coincidence?

  • You mean the book? It's probably named after the Tennyson poem the song is based on.

  • OMG I love that book!

  • is there no movie made of that book?

  • Both the book and song are based on the poem :)

  • love LaRue..and this version for the movie is so wonderful. Reese does a remarkable job of lip synch. haunting, don't you think!!

  • guys plzzzzzzzzz can someone upload the movie :(

  • To jest jedna z moich ulubionych scen w tym filmie, który uważam za doskonały pod wieloma względami.

  • I agree. It is, indeed, perfect, in many, if not all, respects.

  • My collection of songs is for personal interest..and the only story it tells is my love of music.

  • Custer LaRue is singing...Such a lovely gentle voice. Reese does such a superb job-acting the essence of the romantic song. One of my favorite scenes.
