  • Everyone makes mistakes, dude. Rodney King, what?

  • Not only do you sound like jack handy, but your totally wrong. I've been in the industry for 18 yrs and no one that I have ever heard of tries to link some random account to the wrong person. Totally illegal and laws are on the side of the consumer for this type of situation. Yes it does happen by accident. But yknow what happens 99% more than this?? Dead Beat assholes who borrow money and dont want to pay it back!

  • @htool11462 Wow... Thanks for your observation on how i sound like "Jack Handy", whoever that is. You, on the other "hand", behave and write like your namesake on here: a tool. Do you normally go out of your way to be abrasive and rude, or is it a God-given talent? Did you hear me state in the video that I'm GLAD I worked with the debt collectors? I guess you didn't.

Oh, and learn to distinguish the use of "your" and "you're". Thanks for commenting! =D

  • @chrisw357 Nerds always end up worrying about one's grammatical errors :-D. Seriously though, I've been watching a few videos of people offering advice on how to beat the system. I assumed this was another. No, I'm usually not rude to people who are'nt giving bad advice. There are questionable collection tactics out there, but It pisses me off to hear how evil bill collectors are when, because of us, the price of goods & services are kept from skyrocketing.

  • great video

  • if you cut your hair.... you could look like the bad guy from die hard 3. lol

  • where did you get the cool mic from? lol

  • ladies man 101 lamo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • love the mullet dude business in the front and party in the back i bet you get all the ladies lol

  • Good stuff!

    DebtLine Direct (.com)

  • why would anyone get worked up over a slimy bill collector anyway? Those people are nothing but uneducated buffoons that screwed around in school and are now paying the price with a low rank job like this. 78% of bill collectors cant even qualify for a credit card much less a loan. Just fart into the phone and they will go away!

  • This boring ass phacker has a WIFE? Whoa!

  • That's very observant of you. For that I congratulate you. As for me being boring, consider this: I've only been on YouTube for 6 months longer than you. My subscribers: 77. Your subscribers: 0. Thank you for the comment though. :D

  • pwned

  • Hey Chris,

Thanks for posting your story about the debt collector. I'm glad it ended up working out for you. There was also some good information in your blog (such as NOT giving them your SSN etc).

The only thing I might recommend is trying to reduce your white noise. Stuff like "umm" "uhh" and "aaaaand". It slows the flow of your blog down considerably. You probably could have given us the full, informative story in 3:30 instead of 7:26.

    Overall good, though.

  • @armorhelix Thank you for that, it's much appreciated. Thank you, also, for the constructive criticism. Believe me, I know I can be boring to listen to. In my later vids, I did manage to reduce the vocal pauses somewhat, through a bit of rehearsing (and heavy editing helps!). I'm a better writer than speaker, obviously! I'll keep working at it in future vids, if I choose to make them.

  • god u could die of fucking boredom watching this fella

  • I notice that people who post these kind of comments never make and upload their own vids.

  • pay your bills. 95% of america does. if you do not send proof of payment by fax or photocopy, you still have a moral obligation to honor the contract you signed. don't put your debt off at the taxpayers expensex through tax credits for cheated compnies. pay for what you took

  • Well, you obviously don't live in the real world, do you? People get divorced, injured, spouses deceased, temporary low points in their lives.

-It DOES NOT make them bad people, as they usually bounce back.

Third party debt collection agencies try to make profits off of these people, purchasing their debts at a small price. Unless you sign a contract with a third party collection agency, you are not obligated to pay someone who is not in the original contract over the debt.

  • JUST pay what you owe DEADBEAT!!

I know what a jerk you were at Laidlaw.

    Scum drinking gutter whore

  • This sounds like every other debtor. "People who refuse to pay their own debts" & try to get out of it by coming up with every excuse on the book.

  • Did you even listen to the video in full, including part 2?

  • It's not about not paying your bills. Its about unfair debt collection practices, lies and deceit, trying to collect on debts that aren't owed. Its about fraud. The Law Office of Paul J Coleman tired to collect a debt from me I never owed. I found the attorney general had fined them 5,000 for unfair collection practices. I hired an attorney.

  • And also, a "past statute of limitation" account, the one with more than seven years old (different in some states)doesn't mean that the account went away, It only means that you can't get sue for that debt, though the account is still collectible by a collection agency, those are the two kinds of account that a debt collection agency works with

  • actually you're wrong, do you think that if the original creditor get the acct paid in full USA will be as bad as it is right now?, the truth is that every single person who gets a debt and don't pay for it is just an irresponsible person, a "charged off" account in your credit bureau doesn't mean that you don't have to pay the bill, it means that the account is not longer collectible by the original creditor so they work with a collection agency to recover the debt, and that's completely legal!

  • THE TRUTH IS: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY YOUR BILLS! That is correct. Once your debt is written off as "bad debt" the original creditor gets paid IN FULL through tax loopholes.

People that work in debt, credit card, asset recovery etc, are fine well meaning people, but they work in the name of SLAVERY and they should be treated with contempt and extreme prejudice.

  • actually if it has been PURCHASED by a 3rd party...they have every right to sue unless its beyond 7 yrs old. See Capital 1's public records/financial statements. Legal fees are usually 1100 to 1800 bux

  • Owtang illustrates an ingnorant mentality some blissfully cling to: ONLY a collector wld say, "pay yr bills" and we dn't have to pay them. I cldn't possibly b someone working down 25k+ of debt herself, right Owtang?! Credit contracts have a section stating that, should the account default, and the original creditor passes it to an agency for collection, you agree to pay that agency the amount owed. So it is stil VERY SIMPLE, if you want to prevent/stop this, KEEP/START PAYING YOUR BILLS!

  • I understand why everyone is buying into this. Many of us are in debt and we want someone to tell us its ok not to pay our bills. But we know that its not ok. We know that we sign contracts agreeing to pay later for goods and services recieved. Then later comes and we can't adhere to the agreement. The creditor, however, can and does. This results in everything from letters to liens and should come as no surprise because WE signed for it. Best way to stop a bill collector, PAY YOUR BILL!

  • stop posting this insane message, you debt collector maggot. go get a real job and stop trying to act like you know law when you are just one of the bottom feeder maggot leeches yourself. the majority of debt collection from agressive companies/attys occur OUTSIDE of the law but debtors don't know their rights are afraid of the legal process.

my advice to all of my clients is never ever talk to any debt collector that is not the OC and never acknowledge a scumbucket exists or pay a penny.

  • lol waite umm jinkasima if you claim you are a bill collector than you would know that if you tell bill collector to stop calling that will not happen now if they are calling you at work and you tell them to stop then yes that is right and a collection agency should not call you at work again they will violate fdcpa and get fuck other words you can sue them.

    frankie j

  • hello youtubers as a bill collector my self i do have sypathy so just want to give you all a 411 on something first to all people who are debtor this is a communications by a debt collector and any information will be used for that purppose now if you get a bill collector and they dont say that at the begining of the conversaton or during the whole conversation they have violated the fdcpa.

  • listen what i want to say is if you get a call from a bill collector and you know nothing about what they are talkin about best thing to do is just cooperate and varfy you personal info dont give your full ssn but varify your add dob and last 4 of your ssn cuase if you dont we will keep calling you everyday and you will get very anoyed

  • K i'm not claiming to be a debt collector, and where I work, we have been trained that if a debtor verbally or in writing request no contact, then we can not contact them again. Only to let them know our intentions to sue them. That's just how we were trained at the agency I work at.

  • now if you tell a bill collector to not call you anymore that will not work.you will need to wrigh a letter statig you want no phone contact so person bellow me you dummp thanks.

    franki j

  • I'm dump?

  • chris coming from a debt collector(not proud of it, it's just a job) you did the right thing by telling them to never contact you again, it is federal law that if you request not to be contacted THAT THEY CAN NOT EVER CONTACT YOU AGAIN.

  • You sound cool and like you are to good for your job. I hope you are able to find a great position in another company doing what you enjoy doing.

  • There should be stronger laws aginst these scums but you can bet your bottom dollar they have lobbisits in washington.

  • This "accident" happens way to often to be "accidents". Poster is absolutely correct on every point.

Nothing to stop a collector from deciding to "assign" a debt to you if you give them the info.

  • hey chris its pretty disappointing.

bt u should have verified your id at the first time..

    including your dob and ssn..

as i am sure they would have stopped calling you if they were legitimate company

  • Actually, I did go through verification with them, EXCEPT the SSN. They wanted me to read it off to them, which you should never do (not even the last 4 digits). You should always have them read it to you. If they refuse, then they are playing hardball. Fact was, they had no SSN information, which told me that a skip trace was involved.

You have to understand; these collectors will use ANY information obtained to collect a debt, even if the information is about the wrong person.

  • Feel Free to trust them with YOUR name, dob and social zorton, the rest of use will just enforce the laws that apply.

  • Hi Chris, how frustrating...as though people don't have enough stuff to deal with in life...arrgghhh...

You should put the company's full name in your tags.

  • michelle he cant do that according to laws

    chris did the right thing..

and was decent enough nt to provide their full name even when he was harrased badly

  • Thanks for the compliment, zorton! :D
