Thats strange....I just always assumed Larry David was hugely popular due to Seinfeld and Curb. Friends was the 90s sitcom from america us english know well. There is a channel we have called E4 which shows Friends ALL the time. We never recieved Seinfeld, I only heard of it when I watched CUrb, they referenced it and I watched a few episodes of Seinfeld after Curb. Curb is genius. I love it. However, I was watching the Woody Allen film 'Deconstructing Harry' released in 1998 (Or maybe 97) and I was shocked when about half way through the film, Woody Allen's character Harry is talking to his sister when she says 'You are a self-hating jew' and Allen says 'I do hate myself but not because i'm jewish'. I am a huge Larry David fan, and of Woody Allen. Curb Your Enthusiasm is more of a cult comedy here in England that a small percentage of the population have heard of and an even smaller percentage have actually watched it.
