The sacrifice of animals is for specific types of sins not all sins and that is not the only purpose of sacrificing! In Islam we still practice sacrificing in special occasions, places and events. Some specific sins require sacrificing. Other sins require only sincere repentant. The Quran did not add or take away from any book.
