@mandrunk Typical gook response, the irony in that statement is incredible. Those fucking slant eyes are notorious for the mechanical playing with no emotion, like a fucking robot.
This must be a recording many years ago (1980's?) , quite wonderful though; there is also a version in mp3 at her Website and very fine Bach, Tarrega and Albeniz.... !!
One of the few performers who have the technical skills to play this piece at the tempo that Barrios had envsioned. And she does that, whithout diminishing the beauty of the music. Awesome!
Como era de esperar,María Esther reliza una interpretación que me parece impecable de esta alegre pieza.Especialmente me gustan mucho sus notas finales, muy bien ejecutadas.
Does anyone know if this or the video of Sharon Isbin playing this piece was shot first? The opening with the out of focus soundhole is identical. One was copied from the other, but I don't know which.
I think Isbin's performance is technically better, BTW. Guzman seems rushed in some spots ad a bit imprecise. Of course if I could play like that I'd be satisfied, to say the least.
Great Playing and Interpretation! Regarding the ratings: An ebay customer once rated Barrios' recording, himself, as scratchy as hell. The recording was the first ever of a guitar in history nearly a hundred years ago and it was Barrios on the record. Yep, people are pretty silly.
Barrios is the poo!! Such awesome composistion gives alot of room for great interpretations like this one.

I too was amazed at the length of her fingers. GOD chooses , or I would have fingers like that.
But her playing is quite beautiful regardless of her physiological characteristics.
Thanx for the performance and upload!

Stop posting comments which say that some ding dong is better, please. It's irritating and we don't give a crap.

Horrible! Too fast, no emotion at all. Not comparable with Jie Li performance....

One of the very few guitarists who manage to maintain exemplary tone control at breakneck speed.

It's very noticeable with her free strokes that she pivots at the second join, so getting the required speed.

More accurately, for the sound quality.

They're giving it low ratings for the video quality. Such is often the case.

Beautiful playing, Ms. Guzman! Yours is a wonderful interpretation of the piece.
Post more videos.
Gracias,
