It's easy to understand the bathers and the laborers both. But when you are the one there, building latrines, hunting food, and repairing shelter and cooking and firetending... it can feel really rich to listen to someone who has NOT been helping keep the rain out, tend the fire, boil the water, fix everything and find the food...

to hear that person complain is really irritating when all you do is make their life more cushy.

... Point being... if everyone contributes a bit more equally... then all... not just the beached bathers ... are more energetic and upspirited and in the mood for fun and play.

It's just common sense. The gesture of investing yourself to the group before yourself is what strengthens the group and morale level and it is always appreciated.

It objectively is not fair to those who spend most of their time travailing so others can eat and be more comfortable; cos when they ARE free, they'll be far more physically wiped out and less geared for socializing.

It really can easily devolve into social lazy "let's have fun" whining to the hard laborers who are totally wiped out.

Haha. In fact. A lot of bad partnerships are that way. One person working (even at something they like!) and coming home exhausted. To a bored whiner.

... As a volunteer worker, I've lived with teams in very basic conditions like this. I understand that there are different dispositions and that some innately find building and hunting "fun" while others find it drudgery. (Ozzy from Survivor Cook Islands was in his element fishing for the entire tribe each day. But even he admitted, it was exhausting and socially it was less time bonding socially). With a group like this it's vital that NO ONE slacks because someone else has stepped up.

different people have different ways of having fun. For Char, Nick, James & Rowan their way of having fun is to be practical and keep busy in a domestic sense. For the others their way of keeping busy is through self-promotion. I personally find practical things waaaay more fun than dressing up and arsing around. Having said that: the originals have been forcing everyone else to conform to their idea of fun, so now it's the other's turn to force them to conform to theirs. nice.

yeah although I liked diva the 1st 2 weeks she was on the hawk island..not anymore...ii love james!! he's come a long way!
