BookOfFlaws - please explain your statement about Dan Seals. Dan passed away a couple of years ago, but he was NEVER afraid to associate himself with the Baha'i Faith. First and foremost, regardless of what Dan did to earn a living, he was always a very devoted Baha'i.
I saw this when I was a child, and now seeing this again less than 2 months from being 17, I realize how tragic this is. I could not imagine being sentenced to death at this age. Mona is extremely brave, and I am proud of my parents for naming my sister after her. Also, when the mullah signed off the execution, I threw up. It's such a sick world we live in, and people have forgotten what religion is.

I was not quite five when she died, I saw this at a Bahai conference my family attended a few years later. I remember being so frightened and confused that people could hate like that. To this day I can't hear this song without crying.

1984 Doug Cameron put on a concert at Georgian college in Barrie Ontario. I can rememberr being very moved by the video and have searched to replace a cassete tape I had of Doug Cameron's.

In addition to iockstheman's comment, how can you assume Doug Cameron is not a Baha'i anymore and is afraid to be associated with the Faith? If you want to make allegations like that, do some research first - which I "betcha" didn't do.

BookOfFlaws - please explain your statement about Dan Seals. Dan passed away a couple of years ago, but he was NEVER afraid to associate himself with the Baha'i Faith. First and foremost, regardless of what Dan did to earn a living, he was always a very devoted Baha'i.

I saw this when I was a child, and now seeing this again less than 2 months from being 17, I realize how tragic this is. I could not imagine being sentenced to death at this age. Mona is extremely brave, and I am proud of my parents for naming my sister after her. Also, when the mullah signed off the execution, I threw up. It's such a sick world we live in, and people have forgotten what religion is.

I was ten when this came out. They played it quite a lot on MuchMusic, with no real explanation of context. I'm amazed how much I loved it at the time with no real understanding at all of what it was about. I haven't heard it even once in 25 years. What a flashback.

And every time I say prayers for the dead, Mona is in my prayers, along with the other women she was martyred with. I come into you tube everyday. I'll be checking this video everyday from now on. This girl gave her life at the age of 16. If a child of 16 can be so intoxicated with the love of God that she willingly and unquestionably gives her life, then how can any legitimate religion be "nothing but brainwashing"? She gave her life so the likes of you could wake up!

Because those of us who were raised as bahais and then went astray have come to realise in the end that it doesnt even matter if there is a god or not - living all aspects of a bahai life enrich our lives and stop us from shooting ourselves in the foot by making bad decisions - I never formally reaffirmed (not offically counted as bahai) but as corny as it sounds, i live with the faith in my heart

I was not quite five when she died, I saw this at a Bahai conference my family attended a few years later. I remember being so frightened and confused that people could hate like that. To this day I can't hear this song without crying.

Almost 30 years later the story is the same and just as powerful as it was when it was written. I loved this song when I played it in the 80's and I'm glad I thought to revisit it today to remind me what sacrifice really and dedication really means.

Baha'i Faith is a New World Order Religion. Created by God. It teaches Unity of all religions and people. It teaches equality, love and compassion. Baha'i believers follow Kitab'i'Aqdas - a book, brought by Baha'u'llah, their prophet. Oh, and there is nothing wrong with following the Talmud, too. Because, as said, all religions come from one God. And each Sacred Book has its unique beauty, even though they all come from one source.

This artistically reflects the imprisonment, torture, and execution of ten women in Iran in 1983. Their only crime was belief in Baha'u'llah, the Glory of God, Who teaches the Oneness of God, Religion, and Mankind. They refused to recant their belief, and thus were killed... More are imprisoned in Iran today for the same reason, the belief in God, etc... I have friends whose relatives are in prison there, threatened with death every day. good point but remember when people were doing the those things they were using their religion as a sheild and excuse for the awful things they were doing so they wont see a rebellion in their own people because they told the people they were trying to make everyon be like them, which is wrong on many counts but espicially the fact that you shouldn't use your religion as a sheild you should feel and use it to promote peace, and the fact diversity is a positive not a negative

Mona was an incredible young woman. Not yet 17, she was hanged for her Baha'i beliefs. She wished to die last so she could pray for strength for the women that were hanged before her in a desperate attempt to get them to recant their faith. It is by their fruits that you will recognize them. However, it is a wrong assumption that by killing people you can stop the faith from spreading. The flame will come back higher. The Baha'i religion will eventually unite all of mankind in universal peace.
