Cool, but gimmicky. No practical use whatsoever. I mean, if you're a composer and need a rain sound effect; you could just get a cheap plugin, probably even a free one. Heck, it would be cheaper to fly to Seattle and get real rain than pay 100 idiots to snap their fingers and jump up and down.
