lip balm does wonders for the dry lips. I use it 10 times a day I think. And I use AVON cos' it's really good because it's not shiny and it doesn't look like I use a lip balm, my lips look natural, lol so people don't know I use it so no explanations needed :)

the thing is i had good skin before, out of nowhere i started getting these giant bumps so i saw my derm immidiatly and by the time i got accutane (15 days or so passed) it was already really bad, then i flared up because of the accutane so it got even worse, and then it started getting better little by little. and i actually had to stop going to school for 2 months because of how bad it was. rough times, but w.e goodluck with your treatment

+ the only real side effects i've felt are dry skin, lips (god damnit i hate it when i forget to bring my lip balm out with me!), dry eyes especially (some people thought i was a druggy because of how dry my eyes were, causing me to look tired/stoned all the time, got some decent eye drops now though), and then finally back & neck pains, but only after i done a lot of moving and then rest afterwards

I have been on accutane for about 1 month and 22 days now, and I must say, that I haven't felt the SLIGHTEST bit of mood change since i've been on the drug. I do have a bit of a theory why people feel depressed often when taking this drug though: that is because accutane is classed as the last resort, when they feel that they've taken it for a while, and it's still made barely any difference, they kind of think a bit negatively towards the side, if this doesn't work, i'm truely screwed

ANYONE WHO IS THINKING ABOUT ACCUTANE: yo i take accutane and i was told, ohh dont drink ohh dont smoke ooohh dont go in the sun, ohh drink alot of water. first of all ive drank, i live in saudi arabia and the sun sucks, i go to the pool and shit in the sun, and i rarely drink water, .. its already working. so dont worry about that shit

1. the drug itself can fuck up your liver, drinking increases the chances of that happening by a lot

2. going in the sun can cause a severe flare up which may lead to the suspension of the drug.

3. not drinking enough water makes it more difficult for your body to handle the drugs side effects such as dryness.

5. just because you happen to be okay doing all of that, dont encourage people to not follow directions. derms tell you what to do and what not to do, they know their shit.

yes, i play soccer, but i was forced to stop while i was on this treatment because it would interfere with my blood levels with the treatment in my body. also, you cant take sun at all while your on accutane

ive just started my course about 2 weeks ago, my dermotologist said my skin would start clearing up within 3 weeks, there is a bit of an improvement already but my skin and lips are very dry. I hate acne, you cant walk out the door without thinking of it, you feel as if everyone looks at you and i just want to be normal. I am on accutane, and it's SO necessary to take supplements! I mean, my joints and muscle ache... it's like I want to sleep all the fucking time. But everyone's reaction the med. is different so take these if you are like me.

Zinc to reduce flaring for the first couple of months

Vit. E to maintain good vision

Calcium w/ Vit. D for the bones and ligaments.

Omega 3 oil so the skin can maintain some moisture

So take these if you are on accutane

I jogg almost every day and i hit the gym. But watch out with injuries,so don't excersise TOO MUCH!

I hope this stuff works for you but be super careful man. I took accutane for a month and a half. I started having these weird pyschotic thoughts. At first I ignored the because I really wanted the acne to go away. They got really bad and I almost committed suicide. Just a tip stay away from milk and cheese I figured out that dairy makes me break out. Also detox teas with dandelion, burdock are good and zinc and b5 is great. Good luck to you.

You can get calcium from other foods like soy milk, nuts, seeds, almonds, oranges, figs, brocooli. I remember I used to have very weak bones from accutane. My joints used to ache like crazy. Luckily it went away but it took awhile. I know lots of people drink milk and have no problems but me personally dairy makes me break out.

i've adopted the same attitude towards accutane as you have (of course i've been on it for less than a week, but the journey to get here has been a lot longer)...if you sit around and stress about your acne getting better, chances are you're just going to aggravate it even more. you have to be laid-back and basically roll with the punches. no pain, no gain...and it's only 5-6 months, which is nothing in the long run.

Hope you keep making videos. It gives me an idea of what to expect on accutane. Seems like there will be some low points. But after about 3 months, the drug really kicks in, like you and others have said. I know it'll probably be slow going at first, but people get miraculous results on this stuff. I'd like to think that 2009 will be better for me, and that I'll have much clearer skin for a god chunk of it. In the meantime, I'll just hole myself up indoors and practice guitar like a motherfucker

Did you break out early during your treatment? If so when. Im on my 8th pill (40mg) and my lips aren't even dry yet but im breaking out with tons of painfull whiteheads. I know lots of people say the dryness is annoying but I can't wait not to be dripping in oil by 4 in the afternoon.

I have an appt. tomorrow. I've been on accutane once already and it sucked balls, but i was 100% better in the end. but about 5 months later, i was stuck in the same rut. Its been over a year and a half and now im debating wether to start accutane again. =[
