Jon King's tired, vacant-eyed posturing and that awful, gynecological bass sound. This incarnation of Go4 is haunted by the sub-feculent specter of disingenuousness and compromise. Oh well, for their first two albums this band was incredible, and that is how I shall choose to remember them.

@AVeganinMexico whatever, they still pack more punch than any of the new so called indie bands. Go4 was one of those bands that I naturally rejected, but now having carefully listen to them I can see that all those Bloc Party/Interpol guys have nothing on them. Its even sadder that middle aged men can rock harder thatn most new bands.

Ah fuck, this sounds horrible! That bass sound is reminiscent of a mongoloid grunting atonally. I haven't heard a rhythm section mauled this badly since the modified snare drum on Saint Anger.

The new rhythm section is damn solid. Arguably the best as a unit. Not to take anything away from Hugo or Dave or Sara or Busta but this is a tight freakin' unit. The new album is very, very strong. The experimental direction of Mall and Shrinkwrapped collides with the adrenaline funky punk sound of Entertainment! for perhaps their most solid effort since Songs Of The Free. We need Go4 now more than ever.
