  • that move was created by helio gracie the gracie family approves that video ....LOL the gracie family has created all of grappling and throws oh its true its true (in kurt angle voice )

  • And that is why you dont outside hook.

  • Where is this academy?

  • trick to uchi mata is all about hitting their leg on the right spot right above the knee. remember uchi mata means inner thigh so think about that. also its gotta be straight when you throw him like a judo roll. hard to explain but if you dont have those 2 things down it wont work.

  • I suck at uchi mata either. I allways strike right into the opponent's balls with my thigh. It would be a benefit in a street fight, but it's terrible in the controlled enviroment when your friend suddenly goes all red in the face and collapses cursing your mother to hell.

  • i suck at uchimata :( idk why, im a green belt.. its so hard for me

  • Wait, I'd get an under-hook if I wanted to take your back. Going with an over-hook is like asking for trouble.

  • very true. Lousy in breakfalling... too bad there aren't any joint locks in MMA :(

  • Elementary tech for a judoka but good for other grapplers or stand up mma fighters to use. The only reason it got 3 dislikes was probley because you didn't explain this in more detail.

  • i feel like he fell then tried to cover it up with "take him to the ground"

  • Damn the guy who is falling is gonna hurt himself like that he needs to make sure his palm hits the ground instead of the back of this hand. I landed once with my plam facing up and screwed up my elbow, its never been the same.

  • how often does bjj emphasize throws

  • @kaindrg

not very... They just stick to very weak trips and very weak singles..

  • @OVERCAPITALIZE soo they avoid techniques that require power?

  • Comment removed

  • @OVERCAPITALIZE wait why was this removed i liked it i made sense ......

  • @kaindrg

Sorry, i had to improve my "grammar". Check the new comment. I had reply to u 59 mins ago.

  • that was the sloppiest uchimata ever lol

  • the first throw was vicious! thank you!

  • Wow that guy sucks at falling...he needs to get tutured in breakfalling he will get injured.

  • That's awesome, great technique!

  • Remind that an essential instruction in this action to move the leg on that you are standing on must move towards the opponents mass center. You can see it in video but I think it is important to mention... says the old judo instructor from Berlin/Germany... :-)

  • Great move. Works in practice too :D

  • Ahh man I thought of that a while back but you beat me to it :D great minds think alike I guess. lol

    Great throw :)

  • also works well if your opponent has double under hooks on you.

  • Man the more I have been studying it, the uchi mata is an excellent counter to aggressive wrestlers. As long as you can move your feet properly without getting picked up or bowled over, it works very well.

  • Man that is sweet and looks natural as hell! Gonna go try that out.

  • Thanks, I love using my Uchi mata as a counter throw and take all their energy from their shot and load them up for a ride!

  • could you show an uchimata counter to osoto gari?

    thanks

  • @Crixxtachi

A harai-goshi would work more direct as a counter.
