  • kill cells with cells. wow.

  • this would be nice.. if it would really be proven or have its success in real human with that illness...

  • “I feel I am completely cured” says Ms. Gianopoulos, “my symptoms have disappeared and I have a recovery of many functions, notably my balance and my muscle strength is all coming (back). Even after six months, I feel like there are good changes happening almost every day. Before, my biggest fear was that the changes wouldn’t (hold). I don’t even worry about having a relapse anymore”. • Currently, there has been a medical innovation in the production of adult stem cells through a viral method since 2006. Even though it shows a promising rate of sucess, more reserach has be done in order to make this method more safe, and make it more similar to ES cells (some genes are different).

But support this. Perhaps the loss of a potential life is wrong, but the denial of a cure for a life-long disabilty (like paralysis) is evil.

  • Are you serious? Awesome shit dude! I love biology so much dude!

  • @HarveyRex23 So...God support killing embryonic cells? xD just saying. I totally support it btw.

  • @killerboyfoolz No. I said if there was a God. He/She would probably support those who would use embryonic stem cells to kill cancer cells.

  • @killerboyfoolz I'm almost certain that if there was a God, He/She would support people who would do absolutely anything necessary to "preserve & sustain a person's lifespan". I mean, don't all these fuckin Christian groups say they're for the "sanctity of life"? I mean, you think they'd be in support of embryonic stem cell research. And the potential good that may come about from such medical research.

  • @HarveyRex23 Uhm, I agree with this 100% and more if possible. I don't care about human life as long as we're bring up science. It's funny how this was banned 3 years ago or something. Now look at what happened right after the banned had been lifted. =) We should support embryonic rather than adult.

  • @HarveyRex23 You'd think they'd be in the market of saving lives, huh. Lol

  • @HarveyRex23 i don't speek for all christians but i think the stem cells can be taken from the fetus if the fetus dies without an abortion

  • Wohoo

  • Support stem cell research!

  • What????????

  • cool!!!! nice work Gophers...

  • Congratulations to all involved! Since they are dealing with Embryonic Stem Cells, what if anything would delay human trials? I can understand the need for caution with powerful drugs, but stem cells?

  • @kaynada

Its FDA red tape thats causing the delays.

    Sad but true.

  • @Jenfucius It's also those God Damn religious right lunatic church goers & religious groups who also want to eliminate funding for stem cell research. Because somehow they think doctors, medical researchers, and scientists are "playing God."

  • @kaynada Delays are also made since absolute certainity has be taken in order for reassurance that nothign wrong will occur. For example, one method to alllow a stem cell to differentiate into a specific type of cell is through placing it near other cells that you want it to become. Though it worked for adult stem cells, this method made embryonic stem cells tumor-like.

  • huzzah for stem cells!

  • Congratulations, Very Good, hope this goes as well with humans!

  • stem cells ftw!

  • good shit.

  • AWESOME =D!

  • sweeeeet
