Mr Taylor is by far the best drummer.

The loon was a fantastic performer and a force of nature but please dont ever think that he is even close to Taylor.

Peart and many others are technical and brilliant but Taylor has the mix of ability perfect timing and light and shade. :)

Roger is the best all around MUSICIAN if that counts for anything. Roger penned SEVERAL top hits for Queen. Roger also sang WHOLE SONGS while he played the drums LIVE!

Judging from this video, all Moon did was bang drums and make complete racket! Someone mentioned how Moon sounds amazing on track... ok that's nice and all, but it doesn't really hold up if you can't shine when you're playing live. Point me in the direction of a great Keith Moon drumming performance and I'll shut up!

Sorry but Monnie is by far the more accomplissed out of the two fantastic drummer...............Keith has style and outward forces that Roger dont have.

The "WHO" was a fantsic and my favourite band of all time, Queen was always remembered for Freddie Mercury.......................­...and not Roger Taylor unfortunately.

Give a listen to Keith Moon at Isle of Wight, Young Man Blues, Water, I Don't Even Know Myself, etc. I am a fan of Queen, I went to see them live and all (with all the complications that this implies on a south american country) and I've been listening to them since I'm eleven years old or something like that, but yeah, Rog does a great job and he's handsome and a very lyrical drummer and all, but dear boy, Ketih Moon is simply God, if there's something sacred it must be him.

Roger probably better technically but Keith was kind of unique in his style .. though when I saw the Who live a few years back Ringo's lad Zak Starky did a pretty good job of filling the great mans shoes !!

I must agree, music isn't competition! Comparing Taylor and Moon is like comparing two different kind of fruits. Of course the best kind of fruits. Both were/are great but in different ways. And yes, this clip doesn't show Taylor's the best and more spontaneous drumming and isn't Moon's most impressive drummin'. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to see Moon live, but I saw Taylor a few times and his performances (with amazing vocal) and drum solos are impressive. So I will say - both!

I am a HUGE Queen fan, Roger is an amazing drummer (and maybe more would have picked him if it was a better clip, try Hammersmith 75 of Keep Yourself Alive or Rainbow 74, same song) HOWEVER, The only place where a Queen member beats all is Brian May, NO ONE is a better guitarist. For me, Roger isn't number one and funny enough, for me, Keith Moon is THE drummer!

Moon's a very good drummer but a bit too erratic for my liking when he was under the influence of something! Roger never let any of that stuff affect his work. Was listening to my old CD of The Who at the Isle of Wight in 1970 and although full of feeling, Moon's all over the place on many songs! Roger's rock solid live - noticed a couple of slips over the (many years) but that can happen eh? I like 'em both in different ways really.
