*** Good point, but economics are only one issue. The PC12NG also offers the safety of only one engine. Contrary to many people's perceptions, that second engine does not afford you additional margins of safety; in truth, the second engine robs you of safety margins.
Ever seen a KingAir B200 with a 2.62 glide ratio??
Hello.. Thanks for taking the time to comment. You are right, the TBM 850 is really very nice (like a little sports car).. However the PC-12 is a true cabin class airplane. 10 seats + a lavatory! Pretty amazing in every respect... Of course it can also fly quite a bit further than the TBM... Its great that there is a good market for both companies!
@lovUSAhj Have flown both of these aircraft, but hands down the PC12 has it, specially in rotten weather and terrain. Of the 850's I have flown I find they are a little squirrely compared to the solid stable feel of the 12. To each his own though.
@lovUSAhj safety meaning? the tbm is a great pane but just as castlepoint said it's more of a sports car than a real useful everyday , every use plane, the tbm will not do grass, won't take much cargo and even if it goes a bit faster on the distances theese aircrafts are likely to fly it's not a real gain in time.
i've flown both and apart form the speed and price the tbm has no cards to play on the pc-12.
If my numbers hit in the lottery, this would be the first thing I'd buy. What an incredible aircraft. Whenever there is a PC12 on the ramp at my airport, I don't leave until I check it out first.
I met a guy in San Diego who sold four aircraft and his giant hangar just to own one. This plane has some serious fans. Except for some vintage plane and warbird owners, I've never meet a group of loyal owners like the PC-12 guys.

**I really did win the lottery!! Just this morning, I received an E-Mail from Dr. Pahssme'damoolah informing me that I won the NIGERIAN LOTTERY!! I didn't even buy a ticket!! All I have to do is send him $3500. and my bank account information; then, he'll deposit $138,682,475. in my bank account!!
You are right the TBM850 is a really nice aircraft.. However I must admit I really like the fact that the PC-12 has incredible range/payload, a flushing lavatory and can seat 10 people! Both aircraft have their place!
Both are nice airplanes, but serve different roles. If it is just you & a (lightweight) buddy with no luggage, the TBM does give you great speed. But, to take your wife, another couple, the dog, and everybod';s luggage, golf clubs, etc. on a longer journey, the PC12 is the way to go. Plus, it goes farther on a tank of gas, and you have an on-board lavatory. All are quite helpful. Finally, have you seen the interiors - the PC12 is much roomier more comfy.
Beautiful bird. Looking to tansition to one after a few more years in my Bonanza G36. One issue, though, you have a graphic that says fly non-stop LA to Miami. At over 2,000nm even on a direct flight path, that seems to be beyond the PC-12 NG's range. NY-MIA, sure.
You are absolutely right... However with the average Boeing winds the PC-12 can make the trip non-stop 80% of the time. Also, when you throttle back the range increases quite a bit. Thanks for your comments, much appreciated. Enjoy your G36, really nice airplane. Which state are u based?
Certainly, with a very light load and good tailwind with an economy cruise, I guess it is possible. Personally, I'd prefer the comfort of a fuel stop along the way! :-) Overall, the PC-12 is just a superb plane.
Based in OR (KHIO) and part of the year in WA (KFHR) with my G36. Have relatives near KSLN in KS...in the Bonanza, that is a one-stop for fuel and bathroom plus dealing with oxygen bottles. The the PC-12, it'd be nonstop easy...and in style.
It's a great plane. I'm an F/O with a company that flies the PC12, and I've had the good fortune to fly an NG. The Honeywell avionics take some getting used to but are powerful once you have time using them. My only gripe is the front seats from the first generation of PC12s (45s) is better!
Thanks so much for the comments. I hope you enjoy the NG avionics. As Pilatus & Honeywell release new software builds you will see increased functionality which should improve things further. Sorry to hear about the seats. Some people love them and some not so much. Safe flying and thanks again for the comments.
Honestly, the Avionics remind me of a Microsoft product, occasionally all you can do is shut down the engine and batteries and see if the problem corrects itself. A lot of bug fixing to do. The seats place all your weight on your ass unless you're way under 6 feet tall. Not so great during 3 hours+ legs.
You are right, the price goes up but its a natural evolution of this incredible aircraft. Of course with this system you can choose to fly yourself or if youve had a long day you can use the amazing flight director! Thanks for your comments, always appreciated...
