  • I was picking Bisping too.

Bisping fights alot of BJJ guys and sprawled and brawled.

I could not see Maia taking or even rocking bisping.

  • Why would you pick Bisping against Maia?

  • @Pharellman456 it was a tough call really but I think that Bisping is very good at staying out of the clinch and using his footwork to stay out of optimum shot range. While Maia stand up is much improved its still not able to match Bisping's and we've seen guys without amazing wrestling (Miranda for example) stop Maia's shots which I don't think are that dangerous. Basically I forsaw a sprawl and brawl effort from Bisping though of course a Maia sub is never surprising

  • @Meodread I would of also picked Bisping against Maia. If you look at Maia's recent fights he seems to prefer to stand and trade as opposed to get it to the mat. He hasn't subbed anyone since Chael at UFC 95 (I was there!) and that was over 2 years ago. If he stood and traded against Bisping I could only see Bisping winning.

  • @GCham82 i wouldn't say that he has gone to the ground, issue is in 7 fights he has fought 5 Black Belts and your none BBs are Munoz and Grove. That he didn't sub Grove is a let down but i can't complain elsewhere and he took grove, miranda, and Sanitago down, tired to take Munoz and silva down which really just leaves the short fight with Marquardt and some stand up vs. Miller
