Just one more question: If I use the matting powder (as shown in your video), the whole piece does look like skin with a lot of dandruff on it after washing and drying the whole thing. People told me that I might used too much matting powder but I used it exactly the same way as in your video. I'm clueless since it's annoying when you have beautiful painted piece which is then ruined by this dandruffy look. I just apply the stuff over the wet last clear coat.
Hi Guy! I had just one try with your paint system and I am amazed by it's simplicity and the amazing results! Some difficulties I had when working:
- What working time does a color (partA & B already mixed) have? When I mixed part A and B, it dried very very quickly, I had only roughly a minute working time. Is this normal? Perhaps I work too slow :(
- The solvent I used was toluene. This stuff is strongly etherial so the solvent is gone fast and the paint itself cures so quick.
I clean my brushes with mix mineral spirits (Varsol) and 99% Isopropyl Alcohol.
If you accidently forget to clean your brush and the FuseFX paints cures on it, no problem, I have a special brush with fine metal bristles that will be available soon for removing the cured silicone from the Fan brushe's hair.
do you clean your fan brushes with mineral spirits to get the silicone out? or do you use something else? Thanks your work & products are AWESOME! =0)
Does anyone know how to make the skin tone lighter? This one looks a bit too tanned for the project I'm working on. I'm looking to do a similar skin tone to the actress, Liv Tyler.
Isn't it? I never would have thought to use blue on the lips either! Though, it makes sense. It tones down the red so it isn't so "loud". Haha! Tons of great tips to be used in this video.
Forgot to ask,, does your silicone paint work with Gel10? i know thats probably a dumb question but i wanted to know before i started working on a project
Merci Guy! C'est super!
Also can one use isopropyl alcohol as a thinner/ solvent for your paint?

What kind of brushes are used? any brand in particular?
what skin tone you recommend for a Jack Sparrow type of skin?
Love your products!

@jorgealexmr
I'm coming out with my own brand of custom brushes. They should be available soon.
As for Jack, The MPK-01 kit should work nicely, you just have add a little more blush and tan to the skin to darken it.
Please try or practice on a scrap peice of silicone so you can understand the colors.

I make a lighter skin base called S-300 Porcelain, it's great for very fair skin.
The other thing is to go very lightly with the M-102 Tan or don't us it at all.

@AdellesAK47
You can use FuseFX S-300 Porcelain as your base and use the same techniques for painting. Just apply lighter coats and very little M-102 Tan.
