Is Iron Man terrible in this game? I hardly see you coming up against him and he is one of my mains in MVC2. He's my favourite Marvel Superhero and regardless of whether he's good or bad I'll use him I just want to know is he great in this game or not?

Can someone tell me why the first version of this game is sometimes referred to as "Vanilla"? I have not played this yet, but from what I have seen I dont see anything plain about this game. Thanks for posting.

@FinalTallgeese Vanilla is a term used for the original version of anything. It's not an insult or anything like that. It's usually used when there are updated versions or modded versions of games. For example:

In the game "Minecraft" there are several mods available that would add content or change the way the game is played. However, if you are playing the game without any mods on, you would be playing the vanilla version of the game.

@e1234njoi yep , they murdered my favorite marvel character in this game , not one buff given to her, capcoms assuming everyone is going to save 5 hyper bars when their using phoenix. why not just give dp a seperate slot give her 400k health, nerf her damage ALOT and give her a different move set than phoenix , they got ryu and akuma so i dont see why it would be different, or just remove dp from phoenix and give phoenix 850-900k health raise her damage output slightly and give her a lvl 3 hyper

They nerfed phoenix to the point where she's pretty much no longer playable it's a shame you would barely see phoenix online anyway just in tournaments she dominated.

I've seen a fairly long video that was like 4+ min detailing EVERYTHING done to just Zero. Every character had a lot of minor, hard to notice changes you need to research.

Question: When Max says "untechable frames have been increased/decreased" what does that mean? Sorry for the noob question I've been playing fighting games for a very long time but was always confused by talk of frame data and hitboxes etc, I just play to play haha.

@DamonGuile21 Generally he means the time frame when a target hit by a specific attack has to recover out of it and avoid getting comboed further. Longer untech time means that there's a higher possibility of being to combo after certain attacks, while lower means the opposite.

@shadow101010100 Ill try to explain it.Ok,before in MvC 3,Spiderman could do Web Zip to Web Ball in the air but it was really his only option after a Web Zip.Now,any special attack (Web Ball,Spider Sting,Web Swing) can be directly canceled to Web Zip giving him crazy mobility options =o For example,Spiderman's DP(Spider Sting) is now absurdly safe now on block due to the fact that he can do Spider Sting xx Web Zip xx Web Ball or Web Swing for an overhead guess game.The Zip keep Spiderman close.

@shadow101010100 And since Spider bite(The 2nd hit in Spider sting) is a overhead,you can be a total dick and do Spider Sting xx Spider bite xx Web Zip xx Web swing(since its an overhead while your in mid air and in range) or Web ball.Also,Web Swing(on the ground) xx Web Zip xx Web Swing or Web Ball(in the air) is now possiable too.IMO thats a major buff to how I play Spiderman with assist around me =o Hope I didnt confuse you.

I do like the changes on these characters. Not overly broken, but more cleverly thought out as well. I now can actually pick up Cap and Pool. As for Iron Man....I just might try to pick him up. The changes don't really do a lot for me, but I still want to use him simply because I am an Iron Man fan. But yeah, the changes are welcome in this ULTIMATE version of Marvel vs Capcom, and I am sure we are going to see a lot of people playing their original teams a bit more different. I like that~

Max, I think you missed something with Phoenix. In vanilla, her Phoenix Rage hyper had invincibility on start-up that allowed her to punish beam hypers on reaction. There are rumors circulating that say this invincibility has been removed in Ultimate. Can you confirm this?
