They are not the breed for everyone. There are always dogs available through Basenji Rescue and Transport and I have taken several out of the local shelter. Beautiful smart dogs that need lots of love and exercise.

Wow, that's amazing you got one at a shelter. They can be very expensive to buy from breeders.
