I don't why everyone is making a huge deal about this, go to the damn CD store and buy the fucking CD yourself. And I'm getting tired about hearing shit like, "If it wasn't for file sharing, I wouldn't have found out about --". Why don't you go to YouTube, listen to a band, decide if you like them or not, then buy the CD.

If file sharing didnt exist, Id never have found the favourite bands I love today, regardless of downloading, if I didnt download and listen to them first, I wouldnt have found them at all, but I did find them, and Iv seen them, and given them 80 quid to see them twice, thats 80 quid more than if I didnt find them at all.. Also Im referencing to Porcupine Tree, not Metallica, but its the same principle :)

@endrekul That´s not the point... these guys make a living of their music. If people don´t pay for it, how are they gonna make a living? There is no difference... Metallicas´ music is their job and naturally they exspect to get payed for their work.

@Spilorify Yeah, that's the negative thing of fil sharing, but there is also a positive thing about this too. That is popularity. But they can earn money on concerts too :) but they must earn money from their albums as well. But the concert thing has to do with popularity, and file sharing can also play a role there. I think it's ok to have both file sharing and iTunes etc. You have a point here, but at that time Metallica was HUGE, so why do need to earn even more money?

@Spilorify People are buying Metallica's CDs anyway and Metallica earn a lot of money, but if sharing didn't exist, they would earn a lot of money. But piracy does exist and always will be, so bands have to live with that... Metallica are the biggest metal band ever and they have a lot of sponsors, so why do Metallica need to worry? They have millions of loyal fans that supports Metallica by buying their products. This is about money the whole thing and no one can deny that

@Spilorify No maaan it DOES matter. A millionaire that losses the chance to buy his 50th house is not tha same as a poor fun who doesnt afford 15 euros to buy a CD. We grew up with those guyz and we gave our hearts to them so that they can make a fortune and sue music itself. fuck metallica and fuck all those rock - capitalistic pigs . free music for the world!!!
