$600 for a tablet & keyboard vs. $300-400 for a Laptop with a bigger screen, more storage space and similar specs...
The touch screen is pretty much the only think the W500 has going for it for what I will be using it for...
@nmycon I don't think it will totally replace a laptop when comparing to the screen size, processing power for industrial level applications which you may possibly use at university, but if you have a workhorse laptop or desktop within your easy reach, this gonna be a great thing to use one note (using a special capacitive stylus) and other conventional pc tasks like word, excel & etc.

I picked the W500, and am enjoying it every bit. It works, it plays, it can be a portable streaming TV, Workstation, Portable Solitare (Sounds silly but that's when I spend half the time in transit doing, I don't drive), I've tested and this thing has enough beef to run heavy contemporary games, so long as the graphics are turned down (runs Portal2 just fine with graphics options on low, however, without the dock...or a mouse and keyboard, That game isn't the best example).
I'm not sure if the lack of features is a reason for not being able to compare these two devices. By that logic, I wouldn't be able to compare the iPad 2 and the Toshiba Thrive because the Thrive has full HDMI and USB ports. Considering the OS would be a different story, but ports and features are the main reason for comparison. Many people are trying to choose between a Windows tablet and an Android/iOS tablet and this gives a good idea of what to expect in size and ports.
It's not really fair because the iPad lacks the features of the W500 so they don't need to allow the space for USB and HDMI jacks (not to mention the higher quality screen)
