@spanier24 Well, yes.. I mean, it was a spectacular lighting, few others were that beautiful. You say fake, ok the flame didn't fiscally touch the cauldron, but it wasn't the first time. Maybe I love this also because I could watch it from my balcony, but I'm sorry if you think that we Italians are fake, horrible, etc. Clearly you just heard stereotypes about us.. What you say is true for certain people in every country, not just Italy. Just speaking, don't wanna fight. Where you from anyway?
If you think about it the official outdoor cauldron for Vancouver 2010 only had one of the five columns lit by the Olympic flame the rest were just like Torino's, lit by a computer.
It was sent up to the cauldron by a series of fireworks. When you think about it, everyone in the stadium was "embraced" by the flame =) I think it was kinda cool.

completely agree, the olympic flame never touched the cauldron and the fireworks were lit by an electronic device, so basically the olympic flame didnt illuminate the torino games.
@reimonZzito well, the olympic flame in 1996 Atlanta, 1992 Barcelona and 2008 Beijing didn't touch the Cauldron too. Nonetheless, it was all amazing way to light the cauldron.
It's still not clear to me why the IOC decided to alternate the summer and winter Olympics every two years; I liked it when the winter and summer games were in the same year, the last being 1992 when Albertville hosted the winter O. and Barcelona hosted the summer O; it somehow made the Olympics more special, because it was a series of events that happened only every 4 years. I feel that alternating the winter and summer games every 2 years somehow diminishes the "special event" aspect.
no the winters games are every 4 years. i work for torino2006 and it was so great. now i have my supscription on vancouver2010 but it will be so hard to be a part again...
i think so. i was there as voultour and working at sestriere!! I JUST saw in china and believe me, nothing was the same. now i hope to be select for vancouver 2010!!
I might be alone on this but I prefer the more simple cauldron lighting of simply running up the stair to light it. This was cool to watch but I just like it more simplistic like,Barcelona,Atlanta,Salt Lake,Athens etc.

Che emozione..peccato non averla potuta vedere dal vivo in Tv...causa impegni....
Però ho avuto l'emozione di essere tra i 10.001 tedofori che l'hanno portata..
Nickmasies 4 years ago
sei veramente stato uno dei teodofori?..hai avuto un onore che spetta a pochi..beato te..io cosa darei per poterla portare..bravo..ma come hai fatto?
ITAcrazyhead86 4 years ago
