  • @hombremonja LOL Thank you! :)

  • "The schools always ban the good things don't they?" LOL

  • @Jscwod Well, they do! lol

  • Then there's people like me who are too OLD to remember them!

  • i used to have a black and white checkered one I WANT IT BACK! D it was my best friend xD

  • There is slap bracelets which reflect light.

Very handy in dark, drivers see you better.

  • I bought a slap bracelet at a garage sale and I was so excited and then I went to slap it on my wrist and missed. It shot off my arm and went rolling into the street and then a van literally drove over it :[ That was the last time I ever saw a slap bracelet but, they used to be cooler. I remember them having splatters of neon color and weren't they from the 80's?

  • LOL that sucks! They may have come out in the 80's but the first time I remember seeing them was when I was in grade 2, which was during the 1990-91 school year.

  • I am 13 (born 1996) and I thought they were sssooooo cool I won one as a prize in preschool! They rock!

  • I remember them from the early 90s, but I don't think my school banned them, though it doesn't surprise me that some would. What would be their reasons though? You couldn't hurt anybody with one of those, and if that was indeed their argument, then why not ban ALL watches and bracelets?

  • From what I once heard, one of the reasons for it was that the fabric would wear over time and expose the metal inside, which would cause kids to cut themselves. However I remember the material on my pink one wearing out and it was'nt sharp enough to injure a child--if it had been, I'm sure they would have been pulled off the market. I think probably it was because they caused a distraction in class.

  • my friends aand i were just talking about how much we missed them from like first and second grade.......... and no the didn't get banned the teacher gave them out

  • I must REALLY be out of touch because I was genuinely surprised to see that they were still around! Did they ever go away or am I just getting old??? lol

  • I was born in '91, but I remember these during elementary school... I had a fuzzy zebra one =) And yes, unfortunately they were banned from our school as well.

  • i rember going to summer camp and making are own good times good times

  • That's so cool! how did you make them?

  • Really cuz in my school right now everybody has one!im in 5th grade

  • I am 11 and they still sell them at toysrus and walmart(All that).I decorate them in my own flavor and I sell them.I am working on a Slap bracelet line which is my name so be on the look out for those.

  • Really? That's cool! I was surprised when I saw them in the store. I remember begging my mom to buy them for me! I had a pink one and a green and black checkered one. That's cool that you're starting your own line. I'll definitely check them out. Good Luck! :)
