they kinda took the avalanche backend and molded it to the sting-ray now thats gay.......same goes with the new full size chevy trucks look at the grille and then look at a 95 s-10 grille there almost the same just the new full size trucks got a rap around head light.....i think GM is running out of ideas so there going with some of there old body styles and just trim em up a little.....thats just me though

To be honest, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe is going to be the new thing. I take it that after it has had a bit of time on the market, something out there will make it into somthing like a new Infiniti G37 or G35. It has the potential and i am actually speculating on getting the more expensive 2.0T or the V-6. Not too sure yet but i think it will be a great success.
I like new Huyndai. They've taken their time but they are making some interseting cars theese days. Do you get Kia in America?.... I think over the next 15 -20 years Hyundai and Kia could grow in the way Honda and Nissan didn in the 80's and 90's.
What happened to the 300hp Hyundai Genesis? .... Would have really made it gain so much more appeal.. and would have made a much better Halo car for Hyundai. My opinion of the company has improved slightly over that last few years.... but still twards the bottom of the list as a whole in my opinion.
i went and sat in the genesis sedan when they came out, and i didnt feel like i was sitting in some usual hyundai, i was impressed by the interior work. still nothing close to the germans, but its a start for them. i hope they carry it over to the coupe. it seemed like they didnt sell a whole lot of the sedans this year though. it would be interesting to see if the coupe increases overall sales of the genesis name and move hyundai out of the "poor mans car" category. let suzuki take that shit.

Tired of this "super car" craze. There nothing more than racing cars with turn signals, carpet, and leather. Even worse they all have 3 different versions and still cant tell, feel or see a difference. True supercars are the M's, AMG's, RS's and such. Super in that theres no one thing they can't do at least well and we can atleast see one once a week. The exception being the Veron. That is an engineering masterpiece.
I really wish more auto-makers would make their cars "tuner ready" like the Genesis Coupe R-spec. Would be cool if you can get it covered under warranty too.

that's right, forgot about that, but fwd cars are prone to understeer due to loss of grip on the front tires during cornering , i guess that would be torque steer when you apply power in the turn and understeer when you dont appaly power but the car understeers anyway, i think that sounds right...
Understeer is caused by a combination of front weight and the FWD drive train. When you try to turn a FWD car and have power pushing the wheels, then available traction gets divided between turning and acceleration. It's exacerbated by the fact that the engine mass in the front is also pushing against the front wheels during a turn. Torque steer is caused by one tire gaining more grip and the other and shoving the car off a straight line.
Torque steer is a pull to one side due to the right hand rule of rotation as well as a bunch of some physics stuff. It's directly related to the torque created by an engine. (Low torque = low torque steer)

Even on the occasional track day, AWD is much better, because it makes amateur drivers look better if they pull something stupid. which an amateur might.

Well, about as tuneable as a golf GTI or a cobalt ss turbo. I guess 500hp with heavy mods is possible, but for driveability, a little over 300 should do.
That stripped down Genesis Coupe is a great idea. Why pay for an high end audio system you won't be able to hear because of the 400+ heavily tuned engine anyway? 3k less is a good bonus for a couple of light mods.
I gotta agree with you on that one but w/e. im more looking into the turbo upgrades and how much the stock engine can handle. I wish honda had done this with the civic :(

The 300HP genesis is the higher-level Genesis Coupe 3.8 which starts around $27k or so and comes in two trim options.

Tired of this "super car" craze. There nothing more than racing cars with turn signals, carpet, and leather. Even worse they all have 3 different versions and still cant tell, feel or see a difference. True supercars are the M's, AMG's, RS's and such. Super in that theres no one thing they can't do at least well and we can atleast see one once a week. The exception being the Veron. That is an engineering masterpiece.

that's right, forgot about that, but fwd cars are prone to understeer due to loss of grip on the front tires during cornering , i guess that would be torque steer when you apply power in the turn and understeer when you dont appaly power but the car understeers anyway, i think that sounds right...

Understeer is caused by a combination of front weight and the FWD drive train. When you try to turn a FWD car and have power pushing the wheels, then available traction gets divided between turning and acceleration. It's exacerbated by the fact that the engine mass in the front is also pushing against the front wheels during a turn. Torque steer is caused by one tire gaining more grip and the other and shoving the car off a straight line.

Torque steer is a pull to one side due to the right hand rule of rotation as well as a bunch of some physics stuff. It's directly related to the torque created by an engine. (Low torque = low torque steer)

That may have been true when you wrote the comment, but the GXP is up by some margin now and with every refresh it seems to pull away to be the winner. I wonder if GM hacked the site to make a sale; or couple hundred people just decided to vote for the GXP at the last moment.

That Corvette concept looks pretty badass. If they fixed the headlights and the grill, it could make an awesome C7 in my opinion.
As for the Ford Taurus. $38,000?!? Are they serious? That's approaching BMW territory.... and those cars are much nicer and have RWD.

what makes you say that? I'm right, the SHO get's AWD, i checked, after your very astute comment. Also, AWD is less useable for drifting (not that anyone would drift a Taurus, so it's a moot point anyway) and is very much so better for the sorts of things an SHO is most likely going to be used for, such as grocery getting, or soccer practice. Even on the occasional track day, AWD is much better, because it makes amateur drivers look better if they pull something stupid. which an amateur might.

Damn! That Stingray concept looks wicked! I still think the C6 could have been styled more like the C5R race car. If anything, the next 'Vette should have the lights and style of the '58 Corvette with the loveliness of the '63 'Vette. Hyundai's stepped up! For some reason, I like the front of the Genesis sedan more than the Genesis coupe. The Taurus looks great. I've never hated the Panamera. The Gumpert Apollo is a video game race car available in real life. Nice Audi prototype!

Well, about as tuneable as a golf GTI or a cobalt ss turbo. I guess 500hp with heavy mods is possible, but for driveability, a little over 300 should do.

The Mustang, Civic, GTI, and Nissan 240SX all have substantial aftermarket support
but I realize that the Genesis is new.
Modding also saves Hyundai money because they get to void that 10-year warranty!

That stripped down Genesis Coupe is a great idea. Why pay for an high end audio system you won't be able to hear because of the 400+ heavily tuned engine anyway? 3k less is a good bonus for a couple of light mods.
