Lets talk about the positives about this album. The melodies, like "The Real Her" reminded me of some 90's r&b. Drake is one of thee BEST songwriters in hip-hop PERIOD. He may not be the most lyrical but his songwriting ability is top 5 dead or alive. He is able to stay on subject and the harmonies are catchy. It's great. C-town said, "Those were some of Ray-j's goons." LOL
"Marvin's Room" was a PLAYER HATERS ANTHEM. lol but all y'all commenting saying "COMEBACK SEASON was his best work" are band-wagoners.Y'all say this about EVERY artist. Take Care is not a hip-hop album but who cares about labels anymore? This is 2011, genres have disappeared. Drake said in multiple interviews that this album will be r&b. So Far Gone was ok but songs sounded out of place. This album sounded in sync & well put together. Drake was honest. If Trey Songz did this y'all would be ok.

Why does it matter if drake isnt just a rapper? I think Drake should've released a dual album, one hip-hop and one R&B. I agree that this is not a rap album. It has rap elements, but as we see more of the "real" Drake we see that he his more interested in making light, soft sing-songs than raps. I can really only dig Drake in features, the album is too much exposure and not my style.

Lets talk about the positives about this album. The melodies, like "The Real Her" reminded me of some 90's r&b. Drake is one of thee BEST songwriters in hip-hop PERIOD. He may not be the most lyrical but his songwriting ability is top 5 dead or alive. He is able to stay on subject and the harmonies are catchy. It's great. C-town said, "Those were some of Ray-j's goons." LOL

"Marvin's Room" was a PLAYER HATERS ANTHEM. lol but all y'all commenting saying "COMEBACK SEASON was his best work" are band-wagoners.Y'all say this about EVERY artist. Take Care is not a hip-hop album but who cares about labels anymore? This is 2011, genres have disappeared. Drake said in multiple interviews that this album will be r&b. So Far Gone was ok but songs sounded out of place. This album sounded in sync & well put together. Drake was honest. If Trey Songz did this y'all would be ok.

Why does it matter if drake isnt just a rapper? His biggest songs are all singing (marvins room, trust issues, i get lonely too, fall for your type, ect) and he clearly trys to appeal more to women then street niggas. I think Drake's music is polarizing bc he freely shows his emotions and I suspect that makes a lot of ppl uncomfortable. Mind you, most of Drake's main dissenters are men.

I think Drake should've released a dual album, one hip-hop and one R&B. I agree that this is not a rap album. It has rap elements, but as we see more of the "real" Drake we see that he his more interested in making light, soft sing-songs than raps. I can really only dig Drake in features, the album is too much exposure and not my style.
