  • Hey, first off, love your videos. Second, can you email me with your card weight suggestions? I have so much cardstock but it breaks apart when I scor it. I haven't been able to figure out which weight is good for the actual card or box that has scor lines on it and which weight is good for the stamping and gluing and stuff...

  • @whiteangelis - papertrey ink cardstock is the BEST. It's VERY durable! GREAT for a card base. It's very affordable as well and comes in a nice selection of shades. I LOVE them. I have the cheap cardstock from Hobby Lobby, Bazzil, and American Crafts... I use those now to just layer and make embellishments for my cards or scrapbook pages. If you need any more information.. just drop me a line. I'll help you out the best I know how.

  • @foreignhotti This was so helpful and just in time. I was JUST about to place an order for paper :) Thank you so much for taking the time. You have helped me come up with some great ideas and projects and you're doing a phenomenal job :) TYTYTY

  • @whiteangelis No problem at all. I'll be making YT videos soon on another account. As this YT name as of the moment isn't very pleasing. LOL. I had it for 12 years though. Anyways, PaperTrey Ink cardstock is pretty thick. I wouldn't suggest using it making handmade flowers though. I use it strictly for a card base and backdrops. You don't want too much weight from layering although the PTI cardstock will hold up w/ lots of embellishments. Cheap cardstock is GREAT for making flowers/etc.

  • @foreignhotti lol I like the name :) It's cute :) What do you think of the Core'dinations Super Assortment 12X12 Cardstock 80/Pkg-So Mod! for the card base? It looks like a good deal and seeing as I'm starting out, I'm spending so much that any savings at this point will be a good thing.... as if there's ever a time when savings isn't a good thing :)

  • @whiteangelis I have that paper, but I haven't broken into it. I've only made ONE card. I've been too busy hoarding! LOL! I don't know the weight of Core'dinations. I usually wouldn't go under 92lbs for a card base. I think core'dinations is under that. If you're making a simple card & it's not heavy with layers.. it might be a good choice. You're going to use up cardstock, even if it's cheap. Some swear on Bazzil to use on everything or Stampin' Up. Both are just 80lbs. I just prefer sturdy.

  • @whiteangelis You could always just put an extra layer on the card to make it more sturdy after you cut it to size and score it. Like cutting a piece to fit the front and making the same for the inside, then decorate as you like. I'm not very good at explaining myself. Seriously though, it's cheap and a good investment to get some papertrey ink cardstock. You could get the assortment pack for 50 sheets, 2 of each color for 10 dollars. I'm sure that's cheaper than core'dinations & it's NICE =).

  • @foreignhotti You explain yourself perfectly. And where? I found an assortment of them for $36. They're the 12X12. I can't thank you enough for taking the time to respond to me. I appreciate it very much!!!!!

  • @whiteangelis You're very welcome. I know exactly how it feels to be new to this type of craftiness! LOL. You have to go to the PaperTrey Ink website. I'm seriously buying over $600+ of their stuff either today or tomorrow.. some of the things are out of stock, so I have to wait. I think you thought I was speaking about core'dinations being $10. PaperTrey only carries letter size. My question is - Why do you need 12x12? I ONLY own 12x12 and I hardly ever need anything over letter size sheets.

  • @foreignhotti My mistake lol IT wasn't 12x12. I like to use the large to get more use of one sheet. I just like the versatility but then again you're the expert... PS, I already placed an order for their paper :) I am so so psyched! Have you found any good cheap websites to get your materials from? I've tried out Ben Franklin crafts, stuff4scrapbooking is cool, Oh my crafts too but I can't find just ONE place to get everything and for cheap. ARG
