you think you can get that boat across the chanel in time yeah i can manage, good luck to you james thanks doc for everything. i really love that part :)
can't agree more...and the scene when she sees him after the concert...holds his head with her hands and says "i've missed you so much"...a lifetime had passed for her...the way she says those words, i can so feel the way she feels by just looking at her...damn i'm lost without this show
I love this scene. I never realized that i was a closet Jate fan. I always felt i didnt have an opinion but as i reflect back i was always rooting for Jack and Kate. I love this scene. It gets me every time. I also love this scene because it speaks Series Finale. The music the lines everything feels finale like. Anyone who sees this scene can tell it is from the Finale. It is just so amazing!
We should all be so lucky as to experience a love as perfect and sublime as in the moment they looked into each other's eyes and kissed for the final time. Very moving stuff.
love this scene but I wouldnt've done that if I were them.
If I was jack, I'd be like screw the island; I'm goin back with you guys! xD Just let Ben save it if he's this dedicated to the island that he'll sink with it.
@TheCrazyAwesome2 it wouldnt have been anywhere near as dramatic... part of the whole storyline is Locke, near the end of season 1, telling Jack "You are are a man of faith, you just dont know it yet". And finally, the final episode reveals Locke for the last time, as a legacy in Jack. and Jack, being like the main character, kinda sums up the whole of lost in this way. great ending, i think ;)
kate is such a bitch.she had been torturing jack for so long.he always loved her and she slept with sawyer its so unfair.shehad to wait till the end to tell jack that she loves him till jack die?
@fallingup231 she thought that Sawyer was going to die so she did it for pity then again it still got me mad! lol but at least in the other life or in the other world (them being dead and all) they ended up together <3
@fallingup231 I guess Damon and Carlton love this kind of love triangles and I think it makes people to root for their couple more and more and they're totally crazy about what happens next episodes. When Kate stayed with Sawyer in season 3 it made Jack and Kate's fans totally crazy about what happens in another episodes of the show.
@Boicovich i agree kate annoyed me to death. jack and sawyer could never get beyond there differences until the last episode because of kate and it costs lives.
this is the official point when you know LOST is over. Jack and Sawyer shaking hands and saying goodbye to each other. This is a very important moment where the regular viewer may overlook this.
@Xanxiah yeah, infact throughout all 6 seasons this is the first time we hear Kate say she loves Jack. This pay off was so unbelievable, always makes me cry, it's so beautiful. They're faces just before they kiss always gets me.. It's like they know that this is the last time they're going to see each other :'( heartbreaking. JIF!
This kiss, this 3 aka 4 words from each of them, this 20 sec. were EVERYTHING I needed as a Jate-Fan. Can't remember that I've ever cried because of a better reason. My number 1 Jate-moment <3
@xXBlackKateXx Just think about the characters, though. Whether or not it's everything they needed, it is everything they would get. The mutual love is finally established here, but they also both know in their hearts that everything that most happy couples share in a lifetime, they would have to try to share in this one fleeting moment. And while Jack heads off to the afterlife fairly quickly, Kate has presumably been waiting a very long time for that reunion ("I've missed you so much.")
@xxpocketmonster season 5 elloise explains that there are pockets of electromagnetism that were tracked around the world, and were all connected to one giant moving pocket - which was the island.
in actual science, electromagnetism is responsible for the production of light.
in 'what they died for' charles explains Desmond's resistance to electromagnetism.
in 'the end', when the light (electromagnetism) is turned off, the island breaks apart. if everything is connected to that pocket...
@xxpocketmonster then one can make the connection that what is occurring on the island is also occurring around the world.
the meeting of science and faith (hence the two rivers leading into the cave), one says that the light exists in every man and if it went out light would go out everywhere, science says that it's a pocket of electromagnetism connected to every other pocket around the world, and when it went out the island began to crumble.
@ccayco no. Dont forget in the end Christian Shepard told jack that where they are, there is no "Now." sooner or later everyone dies, some way after others. Its a confusing idea but it kind of makes sense.
@Ihatederick123 No. If you think about it, since they're all dead by the time that sideways occurs, it takes place after. Even though there is no"when/here" in the sideways, it still takes place AFTER they all died. That technically makes it somewhat of a flashforward.
i would like your reasoning lol. Here is my reasoning. Everything in a show like lost has a purpose. If Jack asked his dad "So everyone's dead now?" and he replies "Well there is no now," that has a significance in the show so that people dont get confused and think they all died already. Its simple but for you it may be confusing, but it makes a lot of sense.
@Ihatederick123 No, I get what you're saying. But you also have to look at it like this: You're dead AFTER you're alive. If they're dead at that point, then it's taking place AFTER all the events of the rest of the show. Is that not correct? So, the sideways is looking at what happened AFTER the events of the lostie's lives. That would make it something of a look forward. There is no specific her or now, date or time, or the sideways - BUT does it not take place AFTER? Exactly.
@TiggerRah Her whole reason for going to the island was to get Claire back to her son, get the child she raised his real mother. Plus Claire is Jack's sister, Jack would not abandon her but he couldn't take her off the island, he left it to Kate.
this would be my ideal death getting into an epic fight with my nemesis then confessing to the women i have been after for three years that i love her save an island full of people then finally die and go into limbo then finally once i had been reunited with those closest to me move on alltogether to the afterlife now tell me who wouldnt like to go out like that?!?
So I thought the island heals wounds. How come Jacks stab wound could not be healed, is it because the island was done with him? And Jack had not yet made Hurley "like him" so technically since Jack at this point was still like Jacob I thought Jack could not be killed, yet he's dying from a knife wound.
@santachorry I believe it is because when the "cork" was removed the powers of the Island were "turned off", that's why the monster was mortal once more and Jack was not healed. Still we have seen people die of mortal wounds before on the show even when the island had the ability to heal. Therefore the question remains open then I guess to us as to whether they died because it was done with them or because there was not enough time for the properties of the island to heal the wounds.
I don't think it was just the knife would that killed him. That whole structure with the "cork" over the Source of energy was probably built to keep anyone from shutting it down without dying-that's why those skeletons on the ground a few steps away from the cork, maybe they tried to remove it but the electromagnetic energy stopped them. Desmond was immune and caused MIB to become mortal. Then Jack is exposed to that energy when restarting the Source and ends up on the stream
What a stupid thing to do, leave the girl you love for an island??? I would have totally stayed!! I'd put Claire on the plane and Bon Voyage... Stayed w Jack and live happily ever after...
@livi12211 His priority was finding himself and he found himself on the island, he felt a need to help the island (as much as it seems crazy, it´s the truth). Being with Kate was never Jack´s priority, sorry, Jack and Kate´s fans, but her safety and happiness with Claire and Aaron was. That´s why he wanted her to leave. But he needed to find himself in the first place. And it happened when he saved the island.
@livi12211 If the island sank they never would have had eternity together at the end. Time is relative. Their time together in that lifetime may have been extended by a few hours, maybe years if Jack didn't die before they landed, if he went with them. But by saving the island, he gets to spend eternity with Kate. So he did choose her, in a very enlightened way.
some people is not gonna agrre whit me but the girl i realy like now she is a lesbian and the girl i once meet 4 my is now dead she is alive but not the same i just going to go to the marines somo of us are ment to be alone
@TheSpartan062 Smokey lured her away from everyone about 2 days before the time travel started. She stayed with only him for company after the others tortured her too. 3 years of being ith Smokey and feeling so alone, losing Aaron all warped her mind.
I am such a big Jate lover! I have loved this couple from day one, every time I would see them on screen I would melt! I cried when they both said I love you!
Perfect scene, just one tiny detail I disliked, I think Sawyer and Hurley should have had a goodbye too, because they were close at quite a few parts throughout the duration of the show...a hug or something, that's it......but i'll let it slide since the enormity of Jack and Kate's parting was obviously predominant here
@mymyelle Im sure she said it before in her life, to tom, kevin and probably to jack too when they were together off the island, but this is the first time we as an audience see her say it. oh, and it was never even alluded that she said it to sawyer. just sayin... :)
Such an amazing finale and the last scene with jack/kate on island; ben giving of himself; hurley 'chosing' to stay and jack smiling in somewhat recognition that he was chosing to become the new jacob
I noticed something interesting about the final pairings in the love triangle. Juliet gave her life for Sawyer when she hit the bomb thinking that she would be able to send him home and Jack gave his life for Kate so that she could get on the Ajira Plane and fly away. I don't know if it means anything but I thought it was a sweet detail.
even though nearly a month has passed, i still can't get over the fact that Lost has ended for good. but in my heart, Lost will never end. it holds a special place in my heart. I'll forever be Lost!
Obviously the Jack/Kate part is and should be the focus of the clip, but I love Ben's little part in this scene. Conveys pretty much everything you need to know about the character in a single line. The island is his life. Right or wrong, he literally gave up just about everything in the name of it.
Beautiful music, very very moving moment... I was crying so much!
Some people think that Kate is a coward because she didn't stay with him, I'm not okay with that. Jack sacrified himself to permit her and the others to leave the island and to live. She couldn't just say "Hey, let's die together", that's not what Jack wanted. She accept Jack's sacrifice, she accept to live during years without him, she accept the responsability of Claire and Aaron. She made the choice that Jack wanted for her.
I'm a HUGE Jate fan, and I always knew from S1 that Jack and Kate loved each other! This was a big answer to one my questions! The End was an incredible yet emotional finale episode, and this scene's one of my favorites!
@travischelgren WELL...Jack stays on the island and dies....while Kate leaves on the airplane with Sawyer! Kates lover Jack died...Sawyers lover Juliet died..I guarantee you they got back together after a few years ;)
I like his parting ways with Sawyer the most since you could just feel the mutual respect they had for one another. I felt bad for Jack and Kate here too of course.
1:55 best moment in LOST history.

@Captbigbeard Exact;y what I was thinking when watching this scene

@Captbigbeard i never even noticed that, but now i'm kinda sad about it...

I love the fact that they shake hadns Ö and that hurley is in the picture ^^

I love that right after this she just jumps off the cliff...doesn't even hesitate. If I knew I'd never see Jack again...I'd probably jump too. ;)

Wow I'm moved. Only Jack shaped can make 'I Love you' sound not cliché.

One of my favorite sceens....does anyone know if this was the first time Kate ever said ILY?
mymyelle 1 year ago
@mymyelle Im sure she said it before in her life, to tom, kevin and probably to jack too when they were together off the island, but this is the first time we as an audience see her say it. oh, and it was never even alluded that she said it to sawyer. just sayin... :)
lostieCRO 1 year ago
@mymyelle No, she said it to Kevin (her ex-husband) when she was with him in episode 3x06.

Such an amazing finale and the last scene with jack/kate on island; ben giving of himself; hurley 'chosing' to stay and jack smiling in somewhat recognition that he was chosing to become the new jacob
Garp397 1 year ago

Right or wrong, he literally gave up just about everything in the name of it.

tnx for uploading this, it was so emotional
best Jate kissing ever

Thansk for uploading!

And the music, just fantanstic. 2:00 A great change to "A Touching Moment".

I'm sad that this was their last kiss, and there wasn't one for closure in the Church. :(
Still a great, emotional, scene.
